This is, hands down, the busiest Jungle Jim's I have ever seen. Though I am not a huge fan of the menu options in my area, I had to try the Jungle Jim's in Corner Brook - not only does it have a convenient location, attached to a hotel, but the sheer amount of traffic makes one wonder what fantastic offerings they may have.
On a previous trip, which was my first visit, I tried the Kitchen Sink - which is basically a platter of starters. The food was greasy and overall pretty average. I do realize the contents are fried, but the amount of grease soaking through at the bottom was not fantastic. It was really busy though, so I am guessing they didn't have enough time to let it drain.
Recently, I had the French onion soup and the spinach dip. The French onion soup was better tasting than I expected - as it was the only soup on the menu, I had somewhat expected it to be an afterthought, but there were great flavours in it. The onions were very finely diced versus sliced, but that was the only difference between the soup here and other restaurants. I would not get the dip again; though there was lots of it and it was nice and hot, it was bland.
I do get why they are so busy - they have a great group of staff, fun atmosphere for kids, and fun (and large!) drinks for those nights out with friends. read more
