I have shopped with Jung's for nearly 3 decades now and have always found them to be top notch. Their stock is superior to many other nurseries and staff has been nothing but pleasant. I do not agree with or understand the negative comments, especially the ridiculous one about owners being "super wealthy". The owners are not "super wealthy" and actually work right at the Randolph store with their families. I know this because I asked one of the owners a question thinking he was just a worker. He went out of his way to help me and through talking with him found they are very normal people that love the Lord. Jungs is top notch as a nursery and provides excellent products. My husband and I have ordered from Jungs several times and their stock has never been an issue. Their customer service department is another story. Yesterday, (3/23/2023) we decided to place a second order for shipping this spring. Not having mail delivery to our residence, I called to clarify their shipping policies. I dialed their 800 number and followed the prompts. One option was "if you wish to add to your existing order" please press.... " so I did. A rep answered the phone and impatiently barked into the receiver "Customer Service" but did not identify herself. This is the first clue. I identified myself politely, inquired about the ability to add to the order (as was an option) and their shipping method. I was told in no uncertain terms that there is no option to add to an order, nor can they tell me how it will be shipped. It depends "on their machine." First, why is addition to an order and option if it is not? Second, why cannot you assist a customer with concerns regarding shipping? She was so rude, curt and unprofessional that I hung up. This unidentified individual was very poor representative of any business concern, especially in a service capacity. I should have read the poor reviews prior to purchasing grated tomato plants. The packing was interesting but the tomatoes didn't like being hunched over. Basically the tomatoes looked awful, leggy, bent over, not staked up, not enough soil in the pots and they were sent way too early. The 'costomer assistance' was polite butm basically worthless. I do not need or wantm 'store credit.' I will never buy plants or seeds from JUNG, ever again. There is no "customer is always right" attitude here. The attitude is to get as much money from customers, that is all. There is no conscious or fairness with this company. Steer clear. read more

I was looking for a hard to find pepper seed this Winter and I got a search hit for Jung Seed. So I ordered it and a second one I saw. Then I got to the check out and couldn't believe they wanted to charge me $5.95 shipping for 2 seed packets! Not a happy camper, but short of time and I ordered them. Seeds arrive and it is a small package, probably about $2.50 to ship or less. So they raped me for an extra $3.50 on the shipping. I ship small packages everyday and know the cost. I go to plant the seeds and see the package is marked for for 2015. WTF? If I order in mid December it is for the 2016 garden season. HELLO! Today was seed starting day and when I open the Jung seeds I am disappointed. Every single reputable seed seller includes at least 50% extra seed over the advertised quantity listed on their website. Not stinking Jung (or is it Junk Seeds?) A package of 25 included 27 seeds and a few were pretty sad looking. I ordered Pak Choy seeds and they went straight to bolt. When I called customer service they told me it was due to the weather. I've grown it for 3 years prior, planting seeds at different times, and it grew fine. They did not offer a refund, just a "tough luck" attitude. The store was unusually quiet, the stock was picked over and many trees were already out of stock. Things looked bleak until Janeen (sorry if misspelled) showed up and spent almost an hour with me...giving tips, valuable information and a few tidbits about her time in a helicopter. I left with trees that I had confidence in, helpful insight about how to keep deer and other critters away and overall I knew I got help that you can't get in a big box store. Thanks, Janeen. Ordered a birch tree 8ft in height . Cost around 40 $ Transported and planted according to their directions. I had all the correct elements for a birch of this type . Seemed brittle in areas . I planted and waited for 3 months into summer with no new buds or growth. Theyy told me just cut it back and it will grow by next season. Following season it was fully dead after not growing anymore previously. Called and complained they offered no credit unless I dug up the tree and brought it back in with reciept to prove . I had a credit card statement in hand . That was not good enough. I wasted a year on a dead tree. Now they give me attitude. I didn't realize I'd have to create a crap I bought from jungs reciept file. Avoid ! read more

Save yourself disappointment. Just don't. I'd like to post a picture of the (not) "robust & vigorous" plants that arrived. I've seen better plants in the 50% off dead aisle at Walmart. I received 2 itty bitty (icecube sized) pots of tomatoes. They were @2.5" tall and totally twisted, leafless, "things" sitting in a sprinkle of dirt. They had also been eaten BEFORE being shipped. I purchased a purple prince Crabtree this spring and three box shrubs. The tree is full of rust fungus. And all three shrubs have blight. When I brought the pictures in I was given store credit, they only provide store credit. I looked at the other crab trees in their yard and they were all infected with orange fungus. I am very disappointed as I have bought from Jungs before without problems. For the price I would expect high quality plants/trees. read more

I ordered raspberries from them and when i finally got them in the mail the plants were completely covered in mold. I tried cleaning them up as much as i could but ALL 15 plants were dead. I tried emailing Jung twice and they never responded. I wouldn't even give them 1 star! read more

I would very highly recommend spending your money elsewhere. I ordered over $225. worth of live plants & seeds. ALL of the live plants arrived DEAD. I emailed Jung Seed. They wrote back asking for pictures. I sent back pictures on top of pictures of all the dead plants. They emailed me back saying that's normal. Just water them. I almost cried when I read that!! They are in the business of plants & they don't recognize a dead plant when they see one?!? I wasted over a $100! Won't even recoup a single dollar! Shame on them! I've never order seed from these guys so I don't know how their seed source is however their plants suck. Several years ago had an issue with one dead plan and one I managed to save. One male one female and I didn't note which was which. Customer service tried to tell me they couldn't replace or refund the dead plant cause I didn't know the sex. Mind you they are same plant and price so after arguing with them they would only give me credit. My father order plants as well same issue some alive some dead. I finally decided to use my credit and got 8 raspberries. 3 were alive. I've ordered all kinds of plants online and have never run across the issues that I have with these guys and the rude customer service they have read more

I ordered numerous items, that they said weren't sold out, but I have yet to receive any of the order after 23 days. They aren't taking phone calls and have not responded to several emails. Clearly I have concerns about their operation and how customers are being treated. Jung has taken the money already. The proper way would be to summit the charge when the items were shipped. Just love going here, like a kid in a toy store. Perused the landscape plants to buy with Cassie, she has extensive knowledge and I felt I was with the park horticulturist. She made recommendations for MY style, that I will purchase next trip. Bought seed packets I have not bought online, I use only THEIR seeds and Baker Creek, online. The best seed tray selection anyway, plus the strong one I use that isnt the ten bucks. Went to bare root room, met Steve, as my person from last year who rocks bigtime was just leaving. He made finding my fruit, taters, more and more and more berries even MORE fun than I expect and I tried to take him home with a shovel and he gracefully declined. I just received my order from Jung Seed Co. and am compelled to give this business its due review. BEAUTIFUL! Well packaged, viable packaging of the plants themselves, and well documented. I believe credit for a job well done deserves accolades and am compelled, after reading some reviews in GOOGLE, that a correction is merited for both the business and potential customers. Very nice selections, reasonable prices, extensive varieties and descriptions. Anyone looking for reasonably-priced plants is missing a good opportunity if kept away by negative reviews. It is possible to experience a poor purchasing experience with any company, but this, my second order, deserves a positive review. TX. read more

I have ordered a number of plants from Jung, and they have generally been okay. However, in August 08 I ordered $75 worth of iris and other plants. The iris were just fine,but all the other plants (flowers) were very small and either dead or on death's doorstep. Undaunted, i planted the plants and did the best that I could to revive them. After 2 weeks, I realized they were beyond hope. When I called Jung for a refund, they would not provide a refund, only a credit. Their guarantee mandates that they be called immediately when the plants arrive if there appears to be a problem. I tried to be a nice guy and revive their plants, and that was obviously the wrong thing to do since after 2 weeks they will not provide a refund. Lesson learned - no more orders to Jung. read more

I would give them a zero if I could. Sad, as Jung and their direct competitors were once very reliable and known for customer service. (this is going way back) This is the second year in a row that they have taken my order (via internet) and not shipped. Last year I called them and they sent the plants out. (too late in the year I might add) This year it is as if the order never existed except for my screen print of the order confirmation. I read many negative reviews and felt I must tell about my experience. In spring I ordered 3 bushes and one tree. The bushes are alive and well, not the tree. I ordered 6 flowers on line from Jung Seed on 3/29/16. My charge card was immediately charged. I called them on 04/17/16 to ask when my order would ship. I was told in mid April. I stated it was mid April! I was told it would ship the following week. Called on Friday of the following week. I was told it would ship by May 1st as "all orders have to ship by May 1st." Called on May 2nd and spoke with a supervisor. She stated that the flowers I ordered were out to stock, that she'd investigate the situation and email me as to when they would ship. Need I says, never heard from her. Called a final time on May 6th and told them to cancel the order. The women I spoke with looked at my order and said "Oh ya, it's just sitting here" She said it would take 3 days to get a credit on my charge card. When the credit didn't appear by the 13th, I called my credit card company and asked them to handle it. I will never order from this company again. I think any company that ships a perishable product and bills a credit card before the product ships, is not to be trusted. Stay clear of this company. It should get 0 stars read more

Today I identified a new clump of flowers...the purple liatris are growing! I ordered these a few years ago from Jung Seed Company, and I am delighted to see that all it takes is time for some plants to establish themselves. I have a beautiful garden, filled with shrubs like American Highbush cranberry, red currants, a "living fence" of purple viburnums (an online sale form Jung), four beautiful roses from the orange and yellow collection spring sale, bonus seeds of cosmos are doing great too. My astilbe and fern collections are unique, all from Jung! I get complimented on the bruneras that were delightfully packaged, and wrapped like little gifts in brown paper. And the St, John'w Wort bush died, the yellow butterfly flowers were a bust and the iceplant didn't make it, and Jungs gave me a refunded credit. I have been a gardener since I was a little kid, aged five or six. I recommend Jung and realize that sometimes it is up to Mother Nature to make these plants successful.. The key is to acclimate them in your garage or porch before exposing them to a harsh environment outdoors. Read all directions and mist, coddle and check your new stuff. If it comes in as a mess, blame the shipper! Someone may have left it in the back of a delivery truck too long. Keep on planting, it is a tribute to faith and hope. Clare, Sylvania, Ohio read more
