Although it may seem to…read morebe a small place from the outside, Spangles frequently hosts themed events across Fargo Village (recently I enjoyed a stone-baked pizza with my milkshake) which makes them a fantastic business in my mind as there is always something new to try. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, there is a wide range of American treats to buy (oddly enough I do recommend the pizza flavoured Pringles!) and it is all-round a good fun place to hang out. I have had one of their famous "Freakshakes", it was a blueberry cheesecake flavoured one from a specials menu and came with a blueberry muffin on top, it was phenomenal! Fargo village is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and a lot of that appeal comes from Spangles, they are a great asset to the Fargo community and I look forward to their next event!

There was 1 young lad on staff and 1 older guy outside making some pretty interesting and impressive swirly dessert things out of some sort of liquid that he was squeezing into a vat of oil, I have to say that I was impressed! He seemed to be a PRO at making these desserts that looked similar to a pretzel but orange. I didn't try one but it looked great anyway - I;m just not a fan of fried things... The pictures online didn't mirror the inside at all. There wasn't a huge 'cake fridge' with all manner of cakes and desserts, I counted about 5 cakes that all looked pretty ordinary (sorry!) They did have a good selection of ice cream, but it didn't look like it was a popular item as you can tell when ice cream is fresh and a new tub swapped out every day, etc. Maybe I'm just being a bit too critical? Maybe I was supposed to sit down and order from the menu or something and they make it all from fresh? I don't know... I hope that's how it works anyway. I think going in with high expectations and then seeing, well... not a lot on display, that ruined the experience for me, so even if they brought out the best of the best cake in the World... It is overall a quaint place with a diner setting, leather seating and generous portions great for one or two to share. There was also an outdoor seating area which was good for the current heat or an option of sitting indoors for a cooler atmosphere, many icecream flavours (similar to an Italian gelateria). Spread the word and go there yourself, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

The prices were very reasonable considering the portion size and luxurious dining experience! When you enter the Ramada Hotel, it is located through the lobby to the left. There is a bar there, but simply ask the waitress to be seated in the restaurant area. We chose to sit close to the kitchen in the back. Very nice decor with vintage style lighting and fun artwork on the walls. It is definitely an upper class sort of place. After a round of drinks, I opted for the starter of Baby Back Ribs. I read they are fresh pork ribs that are apple smoked in house. The meat tasted hearty, and it had a delicious glaze. I ended up sharing it as it was a very large portion as a starter. We all nibbled on a Grazing Board to share. The vegetarian 'Med" Board had a selection of cheese, olives, bread, etc. Nice way to sample Mediterranean flavours and put off the hungry feeling. For my main I ordered the Devonshire Braised Ox Cheek. This was one of the best Ox Cheek I have ever had! (it was my first ox cheek I've ever had) But after having it at this restaurant I wouldn't want to order it anywhere else as I now have very high standards. It was very succulent and soft, almost as if it melted in my mouth! The meat was on a bed of delicious horseradish mash ladled with red wine jus. It also came with a side of honey glazed carrots. I'm not normally a cooked carrots fan, but I had to make myself stop eating them as they were so good! This meal was massive and I offered to share some of it with my family. My Husband enjoyed a huge stuffed and grilled Rainbow Trout, and our parents got the Chicken and Pomegranate salad and Mixed Grill. Everyone was super happy with their decisions and there was more than enough food to satisfy us all. I was definitely full by the end, but I couldn't resist the desserts menu. Although they have an award winning cheese selection, I wanted something sweet, so I got the Apple & Blackberry crumble with cornish ice cream and single cream. It had a very rustic taste to it; not your typical crumble. This was a very nice way to end the evening. All in all, as I mentioned above, I highly recommend The Queens Road! Huge portions at a reasonable cost, and no one in our party had any quibbles about anything from the food to the service and decor. Foolishly, I went for the dessert too... which was futile as it just made me feel overfull and silly for even attempting another dish (chocolate - my weakness) I thought it was a shame that we were the only people in the restaurant at the time, because they have a great product and location! I have heard rumours of other food (Thai, namely) being on offer there, but perhaps they don't have all of them all of the time. The best thing is probably the deserts; a variety of cakes and crumbles fresh from the over. And although the custard is made with water (weird!), the chocolate fudge sauce is outstandingly yummy. Go there just for a bowl hot chocolate stuff. Important to go here only when you're very hungry.

Picking up deserts and putting them back on the trays. Staff just ignored this. The worst was the attitude of one female staff member. She was rude and her attitude alone I would never visit again.

The card machine seemed to not be working and this couple after trying repeatedly to pay for their drinks were told to return their drinks to the bar from outside, as they like most people of their generation were not carrying any cash. I felt acutely embarrassed for them as they were obviously made to feel extremely uncomfortable by the lack of empathy shown both by the serving barmaid and by the manager who was called. The drinks were then disposed of and the couple left, I'm sure never to return. I certainly will not return myself either as this episode of lack of understanding, compassion and downright rudeness on the part of the Orange Tree left such a bitter taste in my mouth.

She did not put in that order and when we were getting ready to leave proceed to tell us that "It's not like when you are in America and you get to order things to go and rice cannot be taken off the premises" I have never heard of this before in any of the countries I have visited yet alone in the UK. She was rude and unprofessional and the food was equally unimpressive. I would not recommend this place to anyone!
