I have to give a lot of love to the Marqt. I was really impress with their Gluten Free section. You will find a wide selection of Gluten-free Items. You name and they got it! The prices are fair and reasonable as well. The Marqt is one of the largest retailer of natural and organic foods in Amsterdam. For me there's nothing like the taste of organic food. I love spending my Saturday afternoon shopping for fresh produce and learning about new recipes and herbs. After, then having lunch or a cup of tea at the cafe upstairs. What I love about living in Holland is that they provide a lot of natural and organic products to its purest state. It's so nice to actually have the pleasure of tasting the authenticity of the food. Plus this is the ideal place to shop for quality and organic meats. A lot of their products are free from artificial additives, sweeteners, colorings, and preservatives. The bakery section is even better: warm, buttery smells drifting through the store, and everything we tried tasted fresh and far above typical grocery‑store quality. The sushi case looked neat and fresh, and while we didn't try it this time, it's definitely something we'd pick up on a future visit. A deliciously fresh bottle of juice for under 3 euros! You put your bottle under the spout, push the button, and watch as your fresh juice is squeezed into your bottle. The juice is fantastic and you can taste the freshness of it. The oranges are just sweet enough and it's so wonderful to know it's all juice with no additives. The bottle is about 6 oz., but you can also purchase a larger bottle (can't remember the cost). There's no way you can get a bottle of fresh OJ in the states for this little bit of money! The food they carry seems to be pretty much on the healthy side. They have ready made meals you can get for a quick dinner. There are also the regular grocery items for those looking for more. Lots of different ready made salads, a meat market, fresh veggies, a fish/seafood section, and a bakery are also here. Their offerings are extensive and it's a great place to pop in for a quick meal or snack item. The one inside the Centraal station doesn't offer the same kind of selection like this branch. They have a wide variety of options for veggies, milk/yogurt, alcohol, and general products. They take cash (which is vital because so many places now in Amsterdam are credit card only). Definitely bookmark this place for your grocery runs when you are in the city.

First I thought the new Marqt will be small, but it is actually had 3/4 stores! They even have a cooking island to let customers try their new products. They have so many great and fresh assortment of products like high quality of sea food (and yes also oyesters), great salmon packages of Steur BV (highly recommendable), awesome cookings, cakes, salads etc. The opening of also awesome and it was almost like a Rolling Kitchen, but than inside Marqt! They let me taste so many great things that I almost didn't need to have dinner anymore 8) The highlights of my tastings were: - Meatball which was BBQed in a green egg - Indonesian stewed beef with rice - Jopen beer (yes it is the first time that they sell it via Marqt) - 2 different salmon of Steur BV, soo yumm! - Cold meatball with crunchy bread inside - Red wine with bubbles like champagne - Great icecream So if you live in the neighbourhood, pls do check it out! They also have plenty of to go meals to grab for lunch or dinner. Also make sure to try the New York Cheesecake, it is the best dam cheesecake in Amsterdam.

It was very convenient for me and I came here a number of times during my stay. As a neighborhood grocery store, it has the basic goods for any household as well as a good selection of fresh fruit and breads. The Albert Heijn brand items are usually a bargain and still pretty good products. I got my stash of snacks too :) Come here if you have to have your herring fix and you just can't wait until morning to go to the local fish market. The store does get crowded after work in the evenings. Don't forget to bring your own bags!
