Bright, clean and spacious is your first thought upon entering Jumanji pets. They have a fantastic range of pet foods, toys, essentials and carriers-a lot more in-store than they used to because previously it was a much, much smaller shop. Moreover, there is a larger range of livestock too available including all the popular pets. The staff are always rather busy but helpful if you are willing to wait a while. I'd say its best to come when the shop is quieter. Excellent for cleanliness too. Fantastic! However, there is a less positive side. I recently saw two male rabbits sharing an enclosure together and all the time I was there, they were tearing into each other and the first thing that drew my attention was the massive gash on the back of the neck of one of them. Fur was missing, looked very painful. And to my horror, they weren't doing anything about it-they thought they were playing!!! They needed separation immediately. It seems to me that these people don't know much about animals and this isn't the only support I have for this comment. They just want the animals to be sitting pretty in a clean enclosure, behind a clear glass for the customers. To me their primary interest is money-which is understandable. And the PRICES. This the most expensive pet shop I have ever had the pleasure of visiting-and I have been to a lot of pet shops in my life. The livestock are way overpriced. Please look at your options when you want to purchase a pet, there are plenty of places where you will not be a victim of daylight robbery.
Another thing, I recently had an animal ordered into the shop which is a species that isn't kept there ordinarly. It was horrendously overpriced and I ended up paying 5-7 times more than the value of the animal, also, it had a rubbish personality, was underfed, teeth were in bad condition and one tooth was broken and needed vetenary treatement. Don't forget, the breeders of the livestock get about 5% of the profit-Jumanj gets the rest. This animal I bought was 6 months old, when I was quoted on the price of a baby one, I nearly passed out! On a positive note, I would say the quality of their rodents is good. PLEASE exercise some common sense after reading my helpful review and do your research if you are going to buy an animal from here, because the current staff are not very knowledgeable. If you want to buy a kitten/puppy, it is always best to avoid pet shops do your research especially this one because it is grossly overpriced. Jumanj Pets serious about your money! read more
