I stopped on my way home to Fort Collins from Lincoln, NE. I knew about their store from Quilt…read moreAffair, a big show that is at the Boulder Fairgrounds but I'd never been in person. Wow! Good thing I had set a time and spending limit because I could have gone even wilder. This store is huge, with a wide array of fabrics, pattern, notions and beautiful samples all quilted up for us to enjoy. So much eye candy and a very helpful, friendly staff. I found a ton of Anna Maria Horner, Jane Sassaman, Odile Bailloeul, of course Tula Pink and the Kaffe Fassett Collective. And lots of thread for my longarm. Wool and wonderful threads if you love Sue Spargo. Many, many books and patterns. I really could have spent 3-4 hours and plan to go back next time I'm on a long trip east.

Please stay in business FOREVER, Material Girl Fabrics! I…read moreonly get to stop about once a year at this place, as it is on my annual pilgrimage to Lincoln, NE via car. This store is not only huge for a quilting fabric store, but the selection of top notch fabrics that are a cut above the general quilt store inventory makes a person like me swoon! Make sure you get all the way a r o u n d and all the way to the b a c k. You'll find nooks and crannies with specialty items, unique patterns, collected items unrelated to anything and please, just enjoy the experience. If you like to hum along to pop Christian music you can do that too, like I do! The owners are a couple who love their work, their art and their state. Refreshing, to say the least. Plan to drop some coin if your a fabricophile... worth every dime. Thank you Material Girl for making every stop of mine a fun experience.

I remember going to The Barn many years ago, and they have really expanded since then, with vendors on both sides of the road. Everything from homemade items to clothing to some specialty treats. Most of the prices seemed higher than other craft fairs we have been to. Parking was a breeze, and staff was friendly. We don't quite understand having to pay to get in, to make purchases from vendors that also had to pay to be there, when it's held on their own property. We would probably not go again for many years, unless we were really desperate for something to do!

My Main reason for going to the barn festival is to pick up Daves coffee cake. Dave's coffee has…read morebeen at the Barn Featival for years. Imagine my surprise when I got home and took a bite of the coffee cake. It was so dry and not moist. The people I went with to the barn Festival noticed the same thing. I thought Dave's coffee cake had gone downhill. I was so disapointed. It wasn't until the next day that I was told it was not Dave's coffee cake. It was a knock off vendor. I learned later the knock off vendor worked for Dave's coffee cake for 8 years. They simply copied Dave's coffee cake recipe even though they failed. This knock off, copycat vendor was in the same spot that Dave's coffee cake had been for years. I didn't even notice the knock off coffee cake vendor had a different name called the "coffee cake guys." I was also told by many people the knock off vendor pretends they are affiliated with Dave's coffee cake when asked. Even the owner of the barn Festival told me it is the same guys who have been coming every year. Sure, it may be the same employees who USED to work for Dave's coffee cakes. However it is NOT the same business. They are two different businesses. It is a copycat vendor. Dave's Coffee cake said they don't have a problem with competion . However, they do have a problem with the coffee cake guys deceiving their customers. I did spend quite a bit of money at the barn festival Last time I went. However, I won't be back Simply because the owner is defending this knock off, copy cat vendor. I also noticed they raised their prices to get in by $3.00. It now cost $8.00. I have since purchased Dave's coffee cake off their website and have found the company at other festivals who don't charge anything to get in to their festival. . Anyone who allows a copy cat, knock off vendor to replace the vendor who has been around for years will no longer get my business.
