They also have 'healing rooms' where various types of practitioners can give you therapies and alternative treatments. They also supply wholesale foods. They're not some new, trendy company, they've been slogging away since I was a kid in the seventies. Good luck to them and well done for surviving so long!

A bit pricier than the supermarket but worth it if you can afford it as the food is much tastier and you feel as though it might actually be doing you some good. The interior of the shop is very pretty but can often get crowded especially at the weekends. Rory McGrath shops here too!

The shop is only small but is like an Aladdin's cave with so many different items stock. The staff are wonderful and know exactly what they are talking about and if they don't they look it up for you; they will not just pretend to know and risk giving you bad information. They will also give you there honest opinion if they think and item is not going to help you, they won't just sell you something just for the sale. If I am ever unsure about anything I am considering to take as a supplement to my diet I will always visit this shop first for an honest and straight forward answer. The prices are very competitive.

Though the present owners are not Butterworths, the shop's reputation for friendly service has not diminished. They still have unusual foods, grains, spices and they will still get something specially for you if you ask. I get alphonso mangoes in season. I am writing this 'in sadness' as opposed to 'in anger' :…read more EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF. I will NEVER EVER go there again. I was looking at a label on a product and a member of staff tried to BULLY me into buying it. After showing him that I hadn't damaged anything, (he could see I was only looking at the product, albeit in great detail) I was having none of it and left the shop. Many years ago they mucked up my order and again dealt with my order in a very rude manner. What I find amusing, is that they have a note above the tills saying that rude customers will be asked to leave! They really should look at themselves first. It's a pity, as their stock is really very good, but I will shop on the internet from now on. The only reason I am giving it one star is because the system won't allow me to give none. 14.11.12 I have just read another review on another site about this shop and apparently the shop doesn't give refunds when the goods are faulty-just credit notes! How's that for customer service? wow!
