On Saturday, I went to attend the wedding reception of a wonderful friend. Cocktail hour took place in said lobby, in front of the giant marble staircase. A side room resembled a fancy, old-fashioned library. Eventually, the party was led upstairs, to a huge wood-adorned room decorated with huge portraits of doctors from back in the day. This room was set up for dinner and dancing. Another large side-room was accessible, with dessert and coffee stations... and a photo booth!!! We may or may not have borrowed a bust off one of the nearby bookshelves, to use as a prop during our booth session. Said bust was returned to his rightful shelf (although we think it's been quite a while since he's had so much fun). I'm not sure if the catering company is the regular house caterer or not, but in any case, they did a really nice job and the food was great. The only issue was with the bartending area. There seemed to be a lack of glassware and shakers, and one of the bartenders was very frenzied for most of the night. We all still managed to get our drink on, and I do not believe there was a sober person in the house that night.

The food was thoughtfully planned to combine cultures, carefully arranged for smooth service and absolutely delicious. The venue itself is gorgeous inside and out and if beauty isn't your thing, there's the Mutter Museum to entertain guests during the cocktail hour. Throughout the wedding, from ceremony to send-off, Michael and staff were on hand making guests feel comfortable and things running smoothly. He dodged my mother's and my calls. The first time I called him (he didn't recognize my number) when I asked him if he could confirm that he would be DJing my moms wedding, he quickly gave an excuse saying he was in a meeting and would call my mother back, but he never did. She called him multiple times left multiple messages and he ignored them all. We also tried to reach him via text message, which he ignored. He did not show up to the event and he walked away with the deposit.

The day after my wedding he finally responded to me to say he double booked. No apology just a bunch of excuses. I was lucky to find a DJ last minute to work my wedding, John has since called me twice screaming and cursing at me, once because of a negative post on Facebook and then because his mother and brother gave me back the $400 because they were ashamed of the way I was treated. I do not recommend that anyone hire Johnny Looch, he's unprofessional, and unreliable.

Maxine and Donna were uncooperative and on more than one occasion no shows when I had a scheduled appt. Low quality proofs printed on office stock paper in a loose leaf binder. Consistently avoided phone calls and any efforts to provide me with package purchased. Maxine chose 50 images for album and presented an album which appeared to be printed via a local cvs store and proceeded to tell me any images added to album would cost 150.00 each!!! Years , 13 to be accurate, all attempts have fallen on deaf ears.All i have requested is the package paid for to no avail. I can not recreate the day and just long for my daughter to have her portrait and album of her special day!!! Each time I did reach Maxine, Lou or Donna they asked for JPEG numbers from the proof book ,which I provided. Still no portraits and no album! All I received from Bresner is a runaround and avoidance. To date all I have from my daughters event are memories and 4 5x7s. Certainly not the 6k dollar package that was paid in full!!! Half of which I paid 2 years prior to the event to book the date. At my daughters event we hosted 250 people. sadly, many who are near and dear to us are gone.We have no photos . Photo memories are irreplaceable!!! All I want is for my daughter to have her album and portraits. Very sad !!! It is despicable that Bresner calls themselves professionals and their complete lack of professionalism in their field is beyond comprehension. My daughters photos of her special day are gone forever and irreplaceable . In closure ,all I can say is BUYER BEWARE!!!! Chose wisely when hiring a photographer to capture your once in a lifetime event!!! It is my hope to prevent anyone to experience this travesty as a memory of their special day/event.

She also included our four pets in the photos which was no easy task. She took fabulous pictures at her sweet sixteen. She also took the photos at her college graduation party. She has taken professional head shots of me when I needed professional photos. I have always been extremely happy with her work. She is always professional during every step of the process. She takes lots of photos and takes time going through them, helping to make decisions. I have always been extremely happy with the final product. There are no transitions between songs, that aren't being sung by a live band, and, the tracks that are used to fill while the band plays, sound like they were ripped from YouTube. The insane amount of $$ that is spent on that band, should be spent on that man getting a vocal coach. Quality is important. People don't pay a cover or save money for a Wedding, to receive anything less than the highest standard. There are 4 girls in that band and my only reasoning is that it is to cover what this man is working with. They look bored out of their minds in these cookie cutter dresses, that look itchy, which is a sin. The band, as far as instrument wielding musicians, go, is very tight. If they stripped those away, threw that guy in the trash, let the girls be more individual from one another, and got a DJ/singer, they would be golden. Maybe covid just brought out the worst in this wedding company but our experience was not one of butterflies and excitement. We originally booked The Lucy for 11/2020, when COVID started and things were looking grim I tried to be proactive and move the date-- I was told at that time to sit tight because they weren't dealing with us yet. So we did just that, then when it was our turn they offered us dates at the Lucy in 2022, or Feb 2021 which wasn't far off and felt unrealistic but I tried to be optimistic. We booked it for February to be optimistic and eventually ended up having to move it again. At that time we were offered even later dates at the Lucy or we could switch to their outdoor venue for October. We wanted to do right by Cescaphe and so we postponed again and this is where it all went downhill. We had to first pay additional fora park rental fee and the venue, which lacked so many things The Lucy had. We complied and moved forward. When we went to see the venue for the first time it didn't look like the stock photos-- the bar was broken, there was drapery thrown up on pillars haphazardly, there was a bridal suit that was a shed, the grass was over grown and there was bird poop on the floors so needless to say we were disappointed. We had many questions on that tour about what we could and couldn't do and every question answer was " we will get back to you." It often took weeks for them to get back Truthfully that is a horrible business model and they need to better educate the ones that are on site and helping clients. We ultimately hired an outside event designer to help elevate this space. She and her team were faced with so many obstacles from this venue. The owner, Joe Volpe was not easy to work with through the whole process. We ended up missing out on a few of our rental items because near the end of the planning process Joe wanted to be in control of the rentals, and then dropped the ball letting down the client. This is not how you run a business. He refused to let them set up early on the day of the wedding, although the space was empty but offered them to come on Thursday to set up. Mind you, my wedding was on Saturday, so the wedding on Friday was going to get all my decor ideas on my dime... again this just isn't how you run a business. When the class action suit came up in regards to Cescaphe, I was contacted and I wanted to stay positive and declined being involved and I regret that decision. They are a wedding pumping company, who has very little flexibility to their venues and ultimately only cares about the money. If I could do this again, I would have left Cescaphe completely out of my wedding day and used EVERY other vendor who worked with us to make our day truly special. Take a hint and prioritize the client, not the dollar signs.
