We hired Julie to care for our son and she is truly a nice lady. Very clean, feeds the kids healthy food and snacks, also easy to talk to...until there's a problem. She mentions to everyone that she had a background in sales before and it's very obvious by her evasiveness to throughly answer questions that she uses those methods when dealing with her current daycare business. I was recently asked to take my child elsewhere (with no notice) because I kept questioning what, in my opinion, were some very unclear "rules".
It's my understanding that when a parent hires a daycare for their child they are contracting someone for a job. They are not our employee's. They are absolutely not under any circumstances owed any "benefits" from us, the parents. We are not her boss. She had the audacity to post a shady sign on her door saying she was going on vacation and closing for 10 days, but those days were to be paid as part of her benefits. This is where the good stuff hit the fan. I simply questioned it, not protested it and she became defensive and upset. She insinuated I was lying about it not being in my handbook (I put it on my sons life it was not). In fact, there were pages missing in the handbook she gave us. It went from pages 1-2 and then straight to page 7.
She insulted me and my husband saying my husband tried to "haggle" her when it came to payment (also not true, we paid what we were asked and were never late) and told me it was about the money and I couldn't afford it and asked me to leave. She was also pressuring me to go full time and said she could fill my spot with someone who would pay more and would hire her full time in no time. Believe me when I say if it was about the money for anyone it's her. She may say it's about the children, but it's my opinion that she see's the childcare business as a cash cow she can milk so long as you keep your wallet open and a fake smile on.
I will not speak ill of her care methods, only the way her business is run. There is no integrity in her work. I struggled internally with posting about this, but I felt I owed it to other parents who, like myself, will not simply pay someone "X amount" of dollars just because they think they're "entitled" to it.
It amuses me that after she slammed the door in my face as I was leaving she told my husband over the phone that there are no hard feelings. You don't say! How could there be when you're the shady one covering your behind? I imagine these 5 star reviews in the last few weeks were at her request to make me seem like a loon, but I am truly hurt by her actions and allegations when I always conducted my affairs with her professionally. read more
