Live music from bands that aren't household names but haven't lost the dream (as far away as it probably is from them). Inexpensive pours and cocktails, especially the often recommended bloodies. But the best thing in the the place is Leeza. The patience of a wet nurse caring for a hungry, morbidly obese child. The body of Kate Mara from "House of Cards"--a clash between curves and conservation. The kindness and innate intelligence that makes you stay for another round when you should be in the rig headed for home.

About three hours on the road and time for a routine rest stop. Long enough to stretch the dogs and use the restroom. Really the sole reason for the stop. Call it a social norm or just the right thing to do, we believe the use of a business's bathroom should be followed-up with a purchase. Even without that terrible "bathrooms are for paying customers" sign. We ordered iced teas to-go and started perusing their menu when we noticed all the wonderful choices and decided lunch come early today! The food was pretty good. Bathrooms clean. The biggest shame was that we had to leave and eat in the car with the dogs while we travel. The dining room was priceless. An incredible rustic feel, for sure. That cozy, down-home atmosphere that just makes you want to stay. To top it off, they have a monitor in the corner featuring a lighthouse cam. I'm guessing somewhere on Lake Michigan? Great views of some pretty big ships! The couple running the place were a treasure. Don't like what they put on your sandwich? What would be better? They're happy to comply and have you back! I was then YELLED at that I should have read the sign not to hit the ticket button and that I would not be getting my money.
