I believe the makeup artists could benefit from additional training on applying makeup to women over 40. Mature skin requires different techniques and products to achieve a smooth, flattering finish, and I don't feel that was taken into consideration. While I was very happy with my hair, the makeup was not worth the money. Overall, I was disappointed and would not return to this location.

Alex was one of my favorite vendors to work with (it feels weird even calling her a vendor, because now I feel like we're close friends!). There are vendors that are at your wedding to perform a service and get out as quickly as possible. Not Alex! She is patient, listens to what your preferences are, gives guidance on visions without being overpowering, and is humble enough to make any tweaks or changes you might want. She is confident in her work and it shows! Alex made me feel beautiful during my wedding. She also made me feel totally comfortable because of her outgoing personality! Alex's sanitation practices are top notch (I feel an important callout to make in today's climate). She doesn't cheap out and takes care of her brides in the right way. She is also extremely professional. I was particular about how I wanted to handle contracts, and I asked for a lot of clarity and confirmation with payments. Never an issue for Alex. Her contract and payment system is super professional, which made it extremely seamless to work with her, understand the terms of our contract, and also ensure everything was handled from start to finish. Amidst everything else and the numerous vendors you might work with especially during an Indian wedding, it was a breath of fresh air to never have to worry about the small details when working with Alex. Ms. Painted Lady, Alex, is everything you need and want for your wedding weekend. She will make you feel like the most beautiful bride and she will make the hours of hair and makeup the most enjoyable time. Ding dong! Alex, you're beautiful. Thanks for all that you did to make this such a special moment. Forever grateful!

I came from a bad bleach and cut job at Capelli salon, where I got an awful honey color hair (I am cool-tones, and needed ash blonde), and the worst cut I've ever had. Kenzie at Blondie's did the right color highlights, and tried her best to improve the bad haircut. The color is much better, and I believe it will get even better. She managed this in a single visit; Capelli took several much more expensive visits to get my hair to the wrong color and gave me an awful cut. I will return again to Kenzie; but this time I'll make sure to insist on a full gown, as the tee I was wearing got bleached at the neck during my last visit. She will also learn better how to style my hair...she will do great! Highly recommend!

The only thing to do to maximize the situation is to get a facial, so your glowing face detracts from the David's bridal ensemble. Recently I've been super busy at work, so I kind of dropped the ball on scheduling at one of my usual spots, so I decided to give Nola's a try. The basic facial is $75, and it lasts about 70 minutes. For an extra $10, you can add on a peel. They're closed on Monday and Sunday. Scheduling was pretty easy. I called and left a message, and was called back within 24 hours, and they scheduled an appointment without demanding a credit card. Cool! Once you walk in, it's hard to believe you're only a few steps from the hustle and bustle of Grand Ave. The treatment rooms are on the small side, but they're nicely decorated with drapey fabric. I forgot to get the name of my facialist, but she was VERY MELLOW. They do NOT push product like some other places. Everything they used smelled really good. It was so soothing she thought I had fallen asleep. Now here's why they only get 4 stars. I got extractions - part of why I get facials, I want a professional to squeeze the gunk out. Well, I think she left the peel on some of the extracted areas too long. I generally have some puffiness or redness immediately after a facial, but within a few days I am glowing and happy. This time I ended up with one little spot that just can't be covered by makeup. I am praying that it resolves itself before picture time. I will revise my review after a few more days of recovery. I will probably go back here, because the overall experience was great. I ran into a friend about 30 minutes later, and she couldn't tell I had just gotten a facial, which was cool. The prices for waxing are within the range of other nice places in the Bay, but more expensive than the back room of a nail shop.

I left feeling well-attended to and tropical-vacation-ready! I highly recommend checking this place out. (P.S.
