The library has a very good selection of books set in a beautiful old building. They also loan out…read moreCDs and DVDs for a small fee. I often come here to get DVDs out. The collection isn't massive but you can still get fairly late releases at a much cheaper price than other commercial dvd hire places. There are also computers where you can access free internet. Staff are very friendly and helpful. You can reserve books online and order books from other libraries in derby and collect them at this library or another library of your choice.

Whenever I'm away, this is the place I miss the most. I can't wait to get back there at the…read moreweekend! It's a smallish library, but there's a great selection of books, and a good study area with all the reference books to hand. The computer terminals are all internet connected, you just need to get yourself a password. You're only allowed an hour online if there's a queue (and there often is), but hey it's free! The librarians are always friendly and helpful too. The only thing that's missing is Sunday opening and a coffee shop. ;-)

It doesn't always look like it has the range of books (it specialised in local history) but having said that, I've never not been able to find a book. If there is something you want, but can't find, they'll order it for you. In the summer holidays there are often a lot of children/ teenagers playing on the computers and making a lot of fuss. It's not a bit problem as the staff handle them very well, and there used to be a children's play area with toys and books in, though I'm not sure if that's still there now. Overall, very good.

This is a nice little library located in the village itself (just behind the main shopping street),…read morethe computers are always busy & they have a nice little childrens area with a good selection of books (i'd go as far as to say the books for toddlers are more varied & better in Mickleover library than the City Library!), however as their story time doesn't seem to be that popular if you turn up for it and don't tell anyone you'll find there is no story.
