Ring the buzzer and they will come let you in (be patient, sometimes they may need to walk to the door from the other side of the building). The staff is friendly and helpful, and happy to answer questions. There is a wood shop, a metal shop, a fabric area, a Cricut machine, embroidery machine, 3D printer, laser cutters, and all kinds of other interesting tools to make stuff. They offer classes, and let people use the tools after taking safety classes if you show up during open shop hours when the supervisor of the space is there. They rent out small spaces as incubators and offer classes and guidance for growing businesses. If you have ideas of a thing you want to make, chances are there is somebody here who can teach you how to make it. The organization is very much based around community and sharing knowledge. If you are at all curious, I highly recommend the tour.

So far I've had the opportunity to make a shot glass, make some jewelry and learn the history of glass beads and play with 3D printing. As I mentioned previously the Foundry the incubator for a variety of business that make their home here. I recently attended the holiday market where a number of the vendors that make the Foundry home were open and many visiting crafters. Many if not all of these vendors host a class or two that for a reasonable price you can get hands on to learn a new skill. So far I've taken 3 and I can tell you these classes are small, intimate and really give you a hands on experience that really makes the class worth it. Some of these resident creators include a company that makes pucks and baseballs into bottle openers, a metal worker, glass blower, jewelry maker, a wooden frame bicycle maker and a man that makes bird feeders that resemble Frank Lloyd Wright windows. Most of them have etsy or other stores to browse what is available for purchase. For me, The Foundry is about creation, creativity and the access to be able to taken part in it. To work with skilled craftsmen, hear their stories, get tips while making something in the process. So check out a class or 10, it's worth it!

The best approach is to have a design/photo of your choice ready to bring with you for the session. Otherwise, they do have a cellphone with a variety of pictures you can choose from. Upon arrival, they provide you with a bottled water and before you begin, they have a board where they explain to you how to use the tufting gun. We chose the 70x70cm one and took us about 4 hours. The whole experience was fun and relaxing! There are other options where you can make bags and even when you finish your work, they will ask if you want to use it as a carpet or wall art because the base thickness will be different (that part they will help you) After you can wait for an hour for the staff to help you with the application of base or come back and pick it up another day. What a fun way to spend the afternoon.

There were a lot of flowers, abstract landscapes, Pokemon, and cutesy animated characters. I'd recommend picking before your appointment because you're going to be tufting a longgg time, so might as well go prepared. You can choose from 3 different canvas sizes and the size affects the price. We went with a medium one. They project your image onto the canvas for you to trace. This allows you fill in colours easily. If you have an iPhone, you can hook up your phone directly to their projectors. If not, they have loaner iPod Touches that you can look up your image on and use. If you have no idea, they have pictures that other tufters have used in the past for reference. After you've traced your outline, a staff member will teach you how to use the tufting gun. Each station has one that is hooked up to the device on the ceiling. I think this helps you not get as fatigued holding it up. It actually wasn't that hard of a process. The larger or more intricate your design, the longer it will take. Our appointment was originally booked for 4 hours but we were able to finish in about 2.5 hours. We got there pretty early - at 12:30pm and there were only a few other people around. As the day went longer, a lot more people came in to both tuft and make fluid bears. So much so that people were actually waiting and they had to bring out extra tables to set up. I'd go earlier if you can so you can get some undivided attention. We had finished and told several staff members who acknowledged and went away. It was a little awkward because we were taking up spots and there were people actively waiting right next to us. Eventually someone came by to cut our rug out of the canvas and apply the backing to it. The studio itself is a bit of a mess. There was glue on the floor at my station that was still wet from the last person and got on my pants. The guy told me to try alcohol on it when I got home. I was able to get it removed but still kind of annoying because I had wet glue on me for a couple of hours. They do fluid bears in some smaller rooms and they spray something on them that kind of smells paint thinner-ish, like chemicals, and I can tell you it's not well ventilated in there at all. I asked the guy if the fumes were toxic and he said no but who knows. The owner also brought his small dog in that was being a bit of a menace. They had it tied to the coat rack which it upended and when it wasn't getting enough attention, was frequently barking. I like dogs but if you don't, I can see that getting a little tiresome. They do have restrooms for men and women there. They were decently clean. They also gave us each a water bottle when we first sat down.

I was honestly surprised of the detailed quality of cabinets and moreover the thought rendered and engineering of each cabinet. Virtually every aspect of putting the cabinets together were thoroughly thought through and made assembly a breeze All that said New Age Customer Service were phenomenal. Think of it, a customer service department that not only answers emails but actually thinks ahead and makes recommendations to better the experience. I actually was asked if I'd like a refund for an inconvenience. The customer service are as phenomenal as their product line. This was my first purchase but assure you it will not be my last. I'm now looking at their outdoor product line. New Age has set a new and very welcomed standard that other retailers should follow.

But my contractor could not install it due to some unforeseen circumstances. When we opened the boxes months later we noticed that the refrigerator was missing. I did not expect anything from the company since it was my fault most probably that I did not check the shipment correctly or the refrigerator was stolen or something else. I still contacted with the company just to ask them if they could check if they sent the item. They checked and confirmed that it was sent. But surprisingly they sent me a replacement free of charge as a compliment. The customer service by BHARATI was very timely, effective, courteous and responsive. She called me and sent emails enough times about this ticket and for other purchases I placed later and a couple delivery problems. I don't know about the products' quality or durability as they are still not installed but I am very confident if I have further problems the company will stand by their products. Overall, great company, greater customer service and greatest representative.
