Great hidden gem for Puerto Rican food…read more Pernil, rice & beans and sweet plantains were amazing! Chicken with green bananas were okay but green bananas aren't my thing. They have typical Puerto Rican food. It's a mom and pop shop that is grab and go or sit down and eat. There's a full bar. My son's plate was accidentally thrown away because other plates were stacked on top of it. When I asked about it, the server explained what happened but did not offer to remake it, remove it from the bill, or apologize, which was disappointing. That said, it was a busy Friday during Restaurant Week, so I would consider coming back and hope the service is smoother next time. While writing this review, I actually received a text from the restaurant letting me know we left our son's plate behind, which was thoughtful and appreciated. Anyway, let's get to the food , take a look at my pictures , this food held up fantastic on the 1 1/2 hr drive home. The mofongo was soft and paired perfectly with the chicken , sauce and peppers. The arroz was flavorful and the pernil was tasty as well. I would've loved bigger pieces instead of the smaller but that's ok !! The Colombian style empanadas were packed with filling and were delicious. This mom and pop restaurant with the vintage menus gets an B+ in my book. Mucho gracias.
