I have been a long time fan of Juan Pollo. They use to be my go to location for catering for work events and family functions. After moving out this way it has been a while since my last time visit to Juan Pollo. This past weekend my family went by this location to grab lunch and it was a mostly nostalgic experience. The service was really quick. As the food was being ordered at the counter it was being chopped up and packaged almost simultaneously. The staff was also very kind. The food was not as nostalgic as I hopped. Everything was hot and fresh which was great. Nothing beats fresh food. Their rotisserie chicken is top notch. I would give the chicken a 4 or 5 easy. The salsa/Pico was bit different than I remembered it being it was a lot more chunky. The flavor was good and the hot salsa was good, but it would have been a bit better if it was processed a bit more. That I would give a 3 or 4. Their rice is always fantastic, but this time it was just a little drier than how I recalled it. It was also a little lighter in flavor than I recalled it. That would get a 3 or 4 as well. The worst item to me by far is the potatoe salad. It misses flavor big time and has a large amount of mayo mixed into it. I think if I ordered their beans instead my meal would have been much more enjoyable. For me at least their potatoe salad needs a major make over. That gets a 0 or a 1.
