My family heads to the Brainerd Lakes almost every summer & the Spa at Madden's is one of my…read morefavorite destinations when we're in the area. I've had several services over the years from nails to facials to various body treatments & all have been wonderful. My last visit this July was no exception. I had their special (I believe it was a margarita body scrub)...amazing! I was surprised that they now push extra services & disappointed that even though I chose an add on eye treatment, the therapist forgot to do it :( . My other complaint...the carpet in the "relaxation area" in the lower level hadn't been vacuumed for a LONG time. I lost an earring back & found that the floor was covered with granola(?), which I picked up several times, thinking it was my earring back (YUCK!). A note to people staying at Madden's who want to enjoy the spa ...MAKE AN APPT AHEAD OF TIME! Nearly every time I've been there, guests have come in hoping to get multiple people in for multiple services (that day!) & are disappointed when they can't get it.

I'm breaking the Yelp rules. Hey, at least I'm honest about it. I'm not supposed to write a review…read moreof someone I know, but I read someone else's review that said to this effect, "how can I NOT know this business, when I've been a client for so long?" So it is with Salon Nouveau. I've known Jen - the owner - since I was in high school. (Let's just say that's PLENTY of years ago.) She worked for a different salon back then, and my first experience with her was an updo for my junior year prom. Since that day, I've gotten my hair cut by Jen more than anyone else. Why do I continue to have a hairdresser in Brainerd, MN, when I live in St. Paul, you might ask. Well, it's because she's that good. Whether I want her to give me long layers or chop off all my locks, perm me or give me a cool updo, I'd choose Jen over any alternative! She has a gift with hair in general, but I also love her because she has no problem working with my thick, crazy-wavy hair. I even converted my mother to using Jen - versus "whoever happens to be available when I need a haircut" - AND she uses product now. My mom. Product. See, Jen's THAT good :) Keep up the good work, Jen, and thanks for all the years of great hair!

After a thorough exam by Dr Ryan, he pointed out two areas in my vertebrae that were out of alignment, and he thought he could help me get rid of my migraines or greatly diminish them. We discussed a treatment and he did an adjustment. My neck feels amazing! I had constant pain in it before I went in and now it feels great. I am so delighted with my first experience with a chiropractor as professional as Dr Ryan.
