This is now a Shell station. Gas prices are higher than other places, because this is the only game in town, and you have to cross i-94 for any other stations, or go to Winnetka (where they are equally as high.) For a chain, they are community minded, and have always participated in the town trick or treating right after school on Halloween, and offered gifts/prizes for the reading program at the public library. The employees are friendly, but wont chat you up unless you want them to. Hey, thanks for not being my fake friend. I appreciate that kind of place. read more

This was my first time to Glencoe and had to stop for gas. The town seemed nice enough, but when I went into the Shell station I could not believe how rude the employees were. The woman stood eating at the counter without even responding to my "hello" while the older man was messing around in the bathroom. The older man tried to start an argument with me over the bathroom door, how ridiculous.. Shell should fire these life losers and hire someone capable of working at a gas station. read more

Everyone misses the twins that use to own John's Glencoe Mobile Oil Inc. They were extremely nice and very well known in the village. They offered terrific service and always kept the station in tip top shape. It is great to see them around every once and a while! read more

My husband and I live in Glencoe and get gas here every week for over 20 years. That is, until yesterday. While my husband was filling up his car, I went into the mini mart to buy lottery tickets. I asked the employee behind the counter if I could get some scratch off lottery tickets and a powerball ticket for under $20. He rolled his eyes, then noticed a lady he knew buying cigarettes. His face lit up and he said to her, "I'll take you!"; she literally put her arm around my body to reach the credit card machine. Then the employee saw another customer he knew and allowed him to make his purchase ahead of me. I had it at that point and said that since he wasn't interested in my business, I was leaving. I will now get gas down the street in Winnetka. By the way, this employee had also made a snide remark to me before, when I had asked him when they were getting the two pumps that said "out of order" fixed: He had stared at me like I had two heads and said, "They're not broken." I asked then why did the sign say they were. He said, "They just need parts and we ordered them." Would it have been so difficult to say that to begin with? I am not interested anymore in patronizing businesses that disrespect me. I came into his business in a good mood, without an agenda, and this employee treated me as an invader with whom he did not want to interact. So he will get his wish, and never see me nor my husband again. read more
