I bought a high end 5.56 upper (JSE 18" MARK 12 YHM) a few years back. A designated marksman clone with YHM parts.
It arrived and I nearly barfed when I unboxed- the fool with the tool who put on the bird cage flash hider cranked it one half turn too far. This deformed the crush washer and left the bird cage looking crooked. I mean REAL BENT, an OBVIOUS error and made it UGLY
I thought great, $545 for an upper and it looks like crap. Called customer service and they said they would take $10 bucks off. Ten freekin bucks. "OOOOhhhh, its only the crush washer that is bent honey, won't affect nuthin dearie poo"
I said no way I want to return it and they said sure YOU PAY THE SHIPPING TO RETURN OUR FAULTY PRODUCT. SUCKA!!!!
While I was out of town seeing my dying father, they issued a return authorization. My dad passed and when i got back home they said I missed the Return Authorization 2 week period and the item was no longer returnable. It was sitting in their original packaging (and still is).
I explained and got, "sorry about your dad, but the two weeks has passed". So I said, well, give me the $10 off then.... "NOPE, two weeks has passed".
Understand that I sent PICTURES to them. They responded telling me YES, THEY bent the crush washer.... OOPPS that is unfortunate.... sorry for the incovenience. But FIX the issue with the customer??? NO WAAAYYYYYYY. NOT A CHANCE CHUMP!!! We won't even give you the $10 for your trouble.
I was so pissed I still have not shot the POS 5 years later. Their customer service left such a bad taste in my mouth it sits in the back of my safe. I can't look at the cheezy work and not get pissed.
A $545 bent pipe sits in my safe and I still get mad every time i think about it.
So if you think you are buying real quality, understand that a moron with a tool at JSE can eff up your upper, not care, not fix it, but ship it to you to choke on and is backed up by customer service who says take ten bucks or you can shove it.
YOU MUST PAY FOR THE SHIPPING BACK (does their management understand this motivates the fools with the tools to ship defective products?). Get it- YOU PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES. Why take this chance?
Reputable companies will pay for return shipping when they ship defective items. JSE did squat for me. Even after explaining I did not get the Return Authorization as I was back visiting my father in the hospital and then his funeral.
If I could give ZERO stars I would. Or how about a masked emoji dude because my money is gone and they sent a bent pipe. 5 years later and I am still pissed.
I only wish i had posted sooner, the other negative reviewers here may have been spared.
NEVER NEVER NEVER buy from a company that won't pay for return shipping when it is their defect. They are motivated to ship defective product because many customers probably wont pay to return it. Or they may be out of town at a funeral and miss the window to ship it back.. JSE wins, CUSTOMER LOSES.
And if that is how they treat a customer, you should buy from someone who intends to take care of its customers.
