I would like to start out by saying that I talked with the owner and I talked with Chelsey and am totally amazed at their dedication to the job and the customer. I had a question about parts and the owner stopped what she was doing and spent about 15min on the phone with me after the store was closed to help me out. I further had an issue with an order that I made through a different company and Chelsey here at JSE spent several mins on the phone helping me out making sure that everything I needed was handled to accommodate the bad day I was already having with another supplier. The finish is excellent, upper build is super solid, fit onto an Anderson lower build I recently completed and the tolerances were phenomenal! Slow. Nine days and still no word on a very common, basic set of rifle sling swivels I ordered online. No tracking number, not even shipped. It would be like dropping a tiny palm full of thimbles or paper clips in an envelope and mailing it. But no. Not even an invoice yet. If I had to guess, I'd say they sell marked up items before they buy them, then play pokey-slow while they wait to get the shipment themselves that they never order until you order from them. I see they got all their cousins to shill rate them. Look at their floor. They have almost no inventory. Clearly a middle man operation. I bought a high end 5.56 upper (JSE 18" MARK 12 YHM) a few years back. A designated marksman clone with YHM parts. It arrived and I nearly barfed when I unboxed- the fool with the tool who put on the bird cage flash hider cranked it one half turn too far. This deformed the crush washer and left the bird cage looking crooked. I mean REAL BENT, an OBVIOUS error and made it UGLY I thought great, $545 for an upper and it looks like crap. Called customer service and they said they would take $10 bucks off. Ten freekin bucks. "OOOOhhhh, its only the crush washer that is bent honey, won't affect nuthin dearie poo" I said no way I want to return it and they said sure YOU PAY THE SHIPPING TO RETURN OUR FAULTY PRODUCT. SUCKA!!!! While I was out of town seeing my dying father, they issued a return authorization. My dad passed and when i got back home they said I missed the Return Authorization 2 week period and the item was no longer returnable. It was sitting in their original packaging (and still is). I explained and got, "sorry about your dad, but the two weeks has passed". So I said, well, give me the $10 off then.... "NOPE, two weeks has passed". Understand that I sent PICTURES to them. They responded telling me YES, THEY bent the crush washer.... OOPPS that is unfortunate.... sorry for the incovenience. But FIX the issue with the customer??? NO WAAAYYYYYYY. NOT A CHANCE CHUMP!!! We won't even give you the $10 for your trouble. I was so pissed I still have not shot the POS 5 years later. Their customer service left such a bad taste in my mouth it sits in the back of my safe. I can't look at the cheezy work and not get pissed. A $545 bent pipe sits in my safe and I still get mad every time i think about it. So if you think you are buying real quality, understand that a moron with a tool at JSE can eff up your upper, not care, not fix it, but ship it to you to choke on and is backed up by customer service who says take ten bucks or you can shove it. YOU MUST PAY FOR THE SHIPPING BACK (does their management understand this motivates the fools with the tools to ship defective products?). Get it- YOU PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKES. Why take this chance? Reputable companies will pay for return shipping when they ship defective items. JSE did squat for me. Even after explaining I did not get the Return Authorization as I was back visiting my father in the hospital and then his funeral. If I could give ZERO stars I would. Or how about a masked emoji dude because my money is gone and they sent a bent pipe. 5 years later and I am still pissed. I only wish i had posted sooner, the other negative reviewers here may have been spared. NEVER NEVER NEVER buy from a company that won't pay for return shipping when it is their defect. They are motivated to ship defective product because many customers probably wont pay to return it. Or they may be out of town at a funeral and miss the window to ship it back.. Order # 135135 dated 4/22/2017 Terrible customer service. Been waiting two weeks for them (Dawn) to correct an order where they sent me a used/customer returned/defective Odin Works stainless adjustable gas block for new. The machining was atrocious, the part had deep surface scratches, and was missing the necessary stainless adjusting screws (2) and today they told me to contact Odin works (the manufacturer) of the pos part. Not worth the hassle. I suggest others buy your parts and invest your valuable time with any of the other competent/honest/quality/customer oriented gun parts retailers out there. This is my second order from JSE Surplus. 1st order went ok, shipping took a while. So.. I purchased the second item off their website because it said they had some in stock, bought and paid for it on Nov 6th (paid for 2 day Priority Mail, BTW). Turns out they had none in stock and are waiting for YHM to send them another shipment of handguards. On Nov 11th, I had to email them asking why they are selling items on their website that they don't really have in stock (Instead of hearing from them first) Recvd an email from Gwyn @ JSE on the Nov 12th saying that she totally agrees and that she was sorry. Today is now Nov 16th - 10 days since I ordered it it off their website and I haven't heard a word from them explaining where my item is. Today, I sent another email asking where my item is... Not happy getting the runaround when I could have got one else where that actually had the item in stock and got it in 2 days.
