Harwell Taxidermy - Harwells did a fantastic job on my aoudad...Mike suggested an aoudad-specific style to capture the distinctive mane and chaps. I love it!

Please read this full review and be forewarned. I took the first buck I have ever shot (BEAUTIFUL…read moreRack) to Mr. Harwell upon a recommendation from my close friend's Dad. I took this buck to Harwell's in late December of 2018 and requested a European Mount, total cost around $150, up front deposit was $80 if I remember correctly. About a month later I received a voicemail from him saying it was ready for pickup and at the time I was busy traveling every week for work and unable to make it over to his shop before closing time. I figured it would be put away and I would pay a storage fee when I picked it up, which would have been perfectly understandable in my eyes. Given my vigorous work schedule, I wasn't able to make it to his shop until February of this year (2019), approximately 1 year after dropping it off. I presented my Harwell's receipt which showed my deposit and remaining balance. To my surprise, they searched the shop and could not find it. He acted somewhat dumbfounded and eventually gave me the, "Well, I might have sold it, or it might have gotten lost. What took ya so long to come back?" It was at this point that I realized, I was going to leave that day without the mounted rack of my first ever buck... There was NO attempt to discount a future mount, apologize for selling or losing my mount, just a simple "Too bad so sad reaction from the OWNER." I still get angry thinking about the fact the I walked that day without a refund of my deposit and no deer mount, only the thought of my BEAUTIFUL rack hanging on the wall at another hunter's house... It should be very obvious who I am, so if in fact something is done to fix this situation I will edit this review, but until then, the truth will remain... Good luck this season everyone.

Spring of 2020 my beautiful cat Haven passed away. He meant the world to me and was so precious and…read morespecial. In my grief I trusted Brittni to make a taxidermy tail of his for me to remember him by. Also asked for ashes and picture box. First off I was extremely kind to her and supportive. Even offered to baby sit for free to take burden off of her. I paid ahead of time for Haven. Flash forward (I have proof of all these messages) I asked if I could bring Haven home several times in November. She was extremely difficult to communicate with and wouldn't respond for days. She said "what day?" And I said any day is fine, no answer. On December 8 I asked if she could bring him to me by Christmas "any chance I can have him home by Christmas?" She said "I promise" On Dec 21 I asked again for a day. "What day?" she asked again. Dec 21 I asked for a day and time And she asked again "what day" I paid her money for gas and she dropped things off in front of the house. It was the ashes and picture box but Haven's tail was nowhere to be seen. She didn't say his tail wouldn't be included. I asked and she said it's not finished and it would take some time. She never gave me any idea of how much time. I sent messages every month or other month. Often ignored or she took forever to respond and gave very little information. April 5 2021 I asked for an update and she said she'd call me in a few minutes. Nothing. May 26 "what is the status?" Nothing May 28 "left you a voice mail" She sent me a kind apology on sept 3 2021 When I told empathized with her situation but also said I was tired of always reaching out, told her I may have to seek legal help. I told her all I want is an ETA and she literally said she would figure some things out to give me an accurate one. Sept 8 I asked for an ETA "on" the ETA because guess what? No answer. Sept 17 I gave her a boundary and consequence That she had until my bday of sept 25 to give me an ETA ON HER ETA. Not to even return the tail. Just to give me an ETA ON "when" she would tell me her ETA. This was absolutely nuts. Sept 20 I told her I saw she read it but she didn't respond Sept 25 she tried to tell me she went above and beyond because of her lateness and I received more than I ordered. Then she says she has never given a "guaranteed completion date" (all I wanted was an ETA) before and won't, and claimed I was threatening her. She then told me when she knows she will tell me and at a year and half of back and forth terrible communication she told me to be patient. I sent her another long thought out message on sept 25 my birthday which she never read nor responded to. On Oct 21 I asked for a copy of the agreement I signed when I paid in full - she didn't read it or answer And today on January 18 as I'm just recovering from Covid I messaged her telling her it's been two years now. And crying. She at some point removed me as a friend from Facebook. She has not called. Not messaged me back for MONTHS. She knows the heart ache and stress I've been through with this. I never knew this would happen and highly recommend you do NOT do business with her. Even if you don't have a family pet and it's just a deer you hunted - she will not communicate, not tell you when it will be finished, and you will pay up front not knowing, not being protected. We all struggled during this pandemic. I have chronic illness. I have lost people. I was very kind to this person and all I wanted was an ETA on my precious cats tail. The paragraph above is a text I send Ms Bones in regards to my Turkey feathers and beard she has had since January 3rd of this year. i have gone to her shop and no one is ever there, I have called and no answer, I had my nephew who lives a few blocks way from her go by the shop, I've had LOE's friends go by the shop, I have tried everything including the above text for to keep the money she took from me for my mount as a gift or donation to her or her business, and to no avail.
