Tired of bad cuts?! Go to Nas. Nas, the owner of Supreme Blends embodies what a perfect barber experience should be like. From the first time I met him he was warm and charismatic like the bourbon he'll offer you, and truly makes an effort not only to understand the exact cut you want, but you as a person. I have very thick hair that likes to stand up below 2 inches, and Nas takes extra care and precaution to ensure I have the best possible chance of pulling off whatever photo I show him off of Pinterest. I can honestly say out of every haircut experience I've received over the years, Nas is easily #1 and as long as I live in Oakland I'll be going back to that chair. Quick drive, 10 min in a stool, and $20-40 later my long hair was shorter job done. Over the years I'd tried bougier establishments, they had some cute amenities but I genuinely never noticed much of a difference in quality. I was about to head out to another SuperCuts run, but my wife prevailed on me to check out this spot that apparently had a good amount of Reddit hype. "Dappr Dan", hey that's a pretty neat name, why not? I've been going to Dan's regularly now for two years, and it's insane to think that I now actually look forward to getting my hair cut. Dan's demeanor and earnest interest are excellently suited to the usual barber chop talk, and somehow despite being one of a hundred-plus regulars he sees every couple months, he can immediately pick right up where we were last talking. Beyond that, Dan's a barber who actively loves the art of his work and brings an exceptional attention to detail in delivering exceptional cuts. He is meticulous with his attention to layering, ensuring that a haircut won't just look good for a few days then get shaggy, but shines through from cut to cut. While I usually book for 45min, between our banter and his attention to detail it frequently runs to the full hour. Despite being fully booked, Dan never rushes through the work to get through to the next booking, he places his full attention and energy into each of his clients into getting it right and making folks look good. As the length of this review and the unambiguous 5 ratings hopefully convey, can't recommend this spot enough!

Nick is literally the only person he trusts with his hair now. Watching that level of trust between a barber and a client is nice. Nick doesn't just give a good haircut, he gives a sense of comfort and confidence. What I love most is the dynamic they have. When my brother sits in Nick's chair, he seems less shy. they talk, joke around, and my brother genuinely feels seen. I used to stay for the whole appointment just to hang out, but now I actually step away and let them have their time.
