We've tried this place twice (to give it "another chance"), but cannot discover its "reputation". The formula of leaving your phone number and wait to be "invited" to dine, should say enough: arrogance all over. Which is not founded by the food you will be served: that is OK to GOOD (but definitely NOT outstanding). The fact that ruins the experience is the lack of decent service; FOOD 3,5 / Service 1. Definitely NOT recommended (again: cross the bridge to the Rechtstraat for the real Italian restaurants... Yes: more than one...!)

Then one of them turned to the bar, which was just a couple feet away, and finally poured our drinks. And, in a first for me in Germany, the beers were poured about an inch short of the legal measuring line. (beers in Germany have to be poured up to the mark that matches the size such as .3L, etc) I thought that was illegal? The decor is cheesy, kind of like a Pizza Hut. It's always crowded and even with reservations you will have to wait a couple of minits for a table. They will give a free aperitif while you wait. We had an appetizer together, funghi e lumache, which was ok but not great. The escargots were chewy. For mains i had the filetto funghi porcini (entrecote with cep), which was nice. My wife had tagliatelle mari e monti, which was excellent. I would have given it three stars, were it not for the price we payed, which was steep in my opinion. I think you can eat great here, but keep to the pasta.

Pizza is really good. Too much for one person so plan leftovers. Staff is friendly and speaks English. Definitely ask for the spicy olive oil to drizzle on your pizza. Lots of different pastas. Their claim is the make them in house.
