Waiting is part of that sometimes - lots of folks love this shop. Kellie (the owner/operator) has been very responsive to her clientele over time - and as the place became so popular she instituted the "appointments possible but not required on weekdays/no appointments taken on weekends" as a compromise. Works very well if you plan accordingly. Some of the other reviews regarding "rude" staff? I've never seen that once - not even close. The staff is straight up, honest, and kind. Doesn't mean the answer will always suit your plans for that day. Such is life, right? My recommendation? Slow down. Relax. Enjoy the ultra-cool shop and the fun neighborhood. Meet some folks. Get to know your Uptown barber. This is a hometown business serving the community well and it's good to be a part of it.

So here goes my first review! I coach an 18u select baseball team and was recommended to kut klose…read morebarbershop by one of my players. In addition, I happen to work with two of Randy's (the owner of kut klose) best friends. Let me start out by saying that Randy is a very genuine man, he really tries to get to know you. For example, I decided I wanted to grow my hair out for a year and attempt to grow the long Hawaiian hair and attempt to rock the man bun! Haha so having not been into see Randy for a year, I called made an appointment and instantly on the phone he remembered who I was and got me in that same day. When I got there he remembered that I wanted a fo hawk with a number 2 on the sides! Randy is very personable and makes you feel at home. When I first went in, I was nervous because I am pretty picky about my hair cuts. There have been other barbers in the past that I would just go home and buzz my hair myself. I know I know a waste of money but oh well. Randy on the other hand takes his time and makes sure you walk out liking your hair! As you can see from my photos he does designs! He is talented for sure, I had a shaka shaved into my head and all I did was hold up my hand and away he went. Ive seen some pretty impressive designs from Randy; Seahawk logos to parts and stars, he does it all. I want to say the price is very reasonable for the service and "classic barbershop" conversation. When you go in make sure you a lot time in your schedule because Randy takes his time and usually there is line of people waiting to be lined up. Finally, Randy works his butt off and I appreciate the amount of effort put into his work, he clearly loves what he does and I respect the man for it! He started out in a garage with kitchen table chair and now he sometimes goes 15 straight hours of hair cut after hair cut!

I was super apprehensive since it's a barber shop, but I do NOT regret it. Molly understood my problem, and was completely blunt and honest with me which is what I look for in a stylist. She helped me pick out the perfect cut since I was going to have to go full blown pixie, and by god she rocked it! I have never felt so confident in a haircut and I can do so much with it! She walked me through what she was doing step by step, and took her time ensuring I left happy, and I left ecstatic! I will be going back, taking my daughter there, and referring everyone to her, male and female. It took me over a year to find someone I can trust, and I'm grateful I gave this place a chance! Ladies! Don't be afraid of a barber shop! This chick knows what she doing and makes sure your happy with the end result, and if she can't do something she'll tell you instead of hacking away at your head. Thanks again Molly! You seriously made my day!

When I went to pay for my Senior Haircut instead of $28.00 as advertised it was $33.00 she said I had a style cut because they used scissors and electric razor. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous in my life. Incidentally, I have previously been charged $28.00 for the same haircut. They tried to justify the price change but said the owner had not yet made the change but they were still charging me $33.00. This is very dishonest, you advertised one price but charged me a higher price. Then tried to justify a regular haircut as style. I didn't take a picture of the sign when I left and I should have. Today, I went back and they had changed all of their prices. I won't be back and will file a complaint with the licensing agency.
