I would highly recommend Joyner & Joyner for anyone seeking help with a speeding or moving violation ticket in San Antonio. My attorney, Robert Yamanaka, was extremely professional, responsive, easy to communicate with, and open to answering my many questions. The office staff was also very helpful and friendly. When I was looking for an attorney in San Antonio, I called another law firm and had to leave a voicemail, and no one ever called me back. I called Joyner & Joyner and the receptionist immediately picked up and told me I would get a call back from an attorney that day. It was already nearly 3PM Central Time so I told them it was OK if they couldn't call me until the next day. But I indeed did get a call that afternoon by the attorney, Mr. Yamanaka, where we discussed the matter thoroughly and concisely by phone. The next day I got the retainer contract emailed to me for me to further review and sign. It was very clear and stated what the attorney had already discussed with me, including the fee and his going to court on my behalf. It was easy to take care of sending paper work via email and paying the fee with their online payment system. I appreciate that in addition to covering the basics of what I would expect from an attorney, Mr. Yamanaka was very experienced with San Antonio traffic court and understood the nuances of the different jurisdictions in Texas and how San Antonio was more strict. The attorney was able to satisfy my case as first described at the reasonable fee I was promised. After he went to court for me, I was emailed a final letter clearly describing the outcome of the case and the need for no further action by the attorney or myself. The hard lesson I learned is that in San Antonio, Texas you will be ticketed for not going much over a speed limit (and even when a speed limit isn't posted), and getting a ticket means you must go to court and you cannot pay the fine as doing so will put an automatic conviction on your record. My advice is that if you are traveling out of state where you are unfamiliar with the roads, take Lyft or Uber around and do not drive yourself. But if you do find yourself getting a ticket, then I recommend calling Joyner & Joyner immediately for help. read more

My eighteen-year-old daughter got a speeding ticket, her first, just north of San Antonio. Neither my husband or I have had a speeding ticket in 25 years, so we were not sure how to proceed, although we knew we did not want to appear in court there (we live in Austin) and we did not want her to have a conviction on her record. After several frustrating attempts to reach someone at the San Antonio court by mail and e-mail (they don't have a phone number!) to tell them she would take defensive driving, a friend suggested that I call a lawyer who specializes in these things. Robert Yamanaka took my call and was extremely pleasant and professional. He offered his services at a reasonable rate, not much more than the ticket would have cost. He kept in contact with me over several attempts that he also made to contact the court, as after more than three weeks had passed, the officer had still not filed the ticket, so really nobody there really knew what was happening. Eventually, mysteriously, the officer filed the ticket as a warning, not a full citation. So, all charges were dismissed, and we didn't have to pay anything. I was prepared to eat the cost from Joyner and Joyner, as that's what I had signed on for; however, they contacted me and told me they would refund all but $50 for the original efforts to contact the court. How's that for service? They earned my repeat business, although I hope never to have to call them again! I hope you give them yours. read more

This is the second time this law firm helped me with a speeding ticket. Typically I'll use other law firms for minor violations because this law firm charges more than others. But they have taken on more serious and even out of county violations (Medina) for me with success (dismissed) so they are worth the money. With one of my out of county tickets (Medina), no law firm wanted to help but Joyner and Joyner stepped up to the plate. Years later with a serious speeding ticket, no law firm was confident fighting my ticket so I called Joyner and Joyner again and it was successfully dismissed. Points do get added to your license for serious traffic violations and can result in you having you drivers license suspended or you having to pay monthly surcharges to keep it. I highly recommend Joyner and Joyner and thank them for their effort and support for keeping my driving record clean. read more

Just make sure to pay attention!!! I got a speeding ticket and called this lawyer. The secretary was very nice and professional. I paid 153.00 for the service and the original ticket was 185.00. Little did I know that there was a special fee and now I have to pay 297.00. This ended up costing me 490.00. NOT WORTH IT. And when I called to ask why so much he was fumbling around with little information except "that's universal city for you". Really!!! ****Jason Joyner did call me back and was apologetic at the price. He explained that universal city is hard to work with and that they still charged me for failure to appear, however, they just lowered the cost. He got the charge down to 150.00 for me to pay. I called this office after receiving a second speeding ticket, and they told me there would be an initial fee of $150, then I would have to pay court costs. Other places just charge the cost of the tickets. Seemed like a rip off. Plus the girl that answered the phone didn't know if it would be a problem that I was already on probation for another ticket. This place may handle other cases well, but I wouldn't call them for traffic tickets. read more

Very friendly (secretary and attorney) and always available. I have had problems in the past with other lawyers not answering their phones or following up......not the case with these guys at all. They took care of my speeding tickets and kept them off my record. Definitely worth not spending all day at court! You get what you pay for. I hired them for a traffic ticket based on reviews. There was no interaction outside of email and even that was with a receptionist. No interaction with even a paralegal. I could have just mailed in the paperwork to the court and saved some money. They did nothing other than forwarding the paperwork to the court. No calls, email only and they didn't seem to understand insurance laws and kept asking for unnecessary documents. read more

Early 2015 I was stopped by a county sheriff and was given 2 citations. Fast forward to today being a full time student and working full time and my court day being during finals week, I completely forgot about my court date. BAM. Hit with another citation failure to appear. These guys at Joyner worked hard to ensure these citations were off my record and ended up saving me over $500 dollars and were able to keep my record clean. To the folks that were surprised by a $150 or $200 "extra charge", it's called a retainer fee lawyers aren't free people!
