On First Fridays, they bring in musicians, host local artists, and create a great environment to spend an evening with friends. They do sell a variety of pieces - paintings, stationary cards, prints, jewelry, etc. A pack of cards definitely caught my eye, but just a heads up, they are a little pricier than you would expect for similar goods elsewhere. But then again, they are much rarer and more unique. I think a pack of six or seven cards were about $15. So, not insanely pricey, but definitely a little more than I would expect to pay. There's such a great diversity of artwork - you'll definitely find something wonderful that suits your taste.

The two ladies that served us were very pleasant and happy to be of service! I was genuinely impressed at how happy these two ladies were to be helping us enjoy our evening of catching up. I must say, every employee I encountered was very pleasant. Working at the BKG & Wine Depot must be enjoyable because you could tell they all genuinely loved their work. I was able to meet the owner; he made sure to greet each guest and make sure they felt welcome; he is nothing short of wonderful! Since it was a chilly night, we only had a few people enjoy the amazing outdoor space they have. I can see that this outdoor space would call to the small group of friends wanting to catch up or the individual that needs to wind down after work and get deeper into that book they have been meaning to spend more time with! For $99, I got a 2-hour (well, 2.5 hour) private lesson with Amanda, where I learned how to throw on a wheel and even had the opportunity to create my own piece. Amanda herself is very warm, talented, and a great teacher. She was very encouraging during more challenging parts and stepped in to save the piece. She took the time to teach me certain concepts and terms. The experience felt like learning from an expert friend. A nice touch, too, was that she offered to take photos as I worked on the wheel. At first, I was not very interested, but there is now awesome documentation of my work, including some amusing videos. If video/photos are not your jam, you certainly don't have to do it. But I am grateful that she suggested it because I wouldn't have these awesome pictures as a nice souvenir. I ultimately made 2 pieces. For an extra $15, Amanda will glaze and fire your piece, which you can pick up about a month later. Such a unique, fun experience. I'd highly recommend checking out her studio and lessons.

This used to be a fantastic store with the previous owners, and I had multiple paintings and…read moredocuments framed there. The owners were fantastic. I went back earlier this year to frame two documents. For the first document, they wanted to charge around $500. I took it to Michael's down the road, and had it framed for less than $150 in two weeks. I still left a second document to be frames. They told me it would be done in 2-3 weeks. I called several times after 3 weeks and could never get anyone to pick up the phone. I also sent emails, with now response. I went to the store in person, and it was closed for two days because they needed employee training. After 7 weeks, I finally got someone on the phone. I went back to the store immediately and picked up the document. I will have it framed elsewhere.

A famous artist painted a picture of my great great uncles home in Galveston.
