The shop was unexpectedly closed on the 14th ( when the flowers were set the be delivered) so they delivered it a day early only I wasn't home to receive them. The delivery driver waited (I believe) because when i came home (about 10 minutes later) they were delivered. That was very appreciated because I wasn't sure if I would receive them because they delivery driver walked off with them when I didn't answer the door. I'm not sure they understood very well because they hardly spoke English. I used a calculator to add up all the assortments together and it came up to a total of $180 (171 but I rounded up). The bouquet was made and I was ready to pay (even though they got flowers from the back and not the fresh ones that they had from the front). The lady attempted to charge me for $250... I was very upset and told them I'm not overpaying for half-dead flowers and a poor assortment that looked as if it was thrown together by a child. We wanted to get a really nice bouquet for our mothers birthday. We went in and were immediately greeted by Kim with a happy and open smile. We let her know what we were looking for a decided to do the designers choice since we weren't too familiar with making bouquets. We were in and out of there within 10 minutes! We wanted a really full and vibrant color bouquet with lillies (moms fav flower). We came in on Tuesday and asked to pick up on Friday. Since Sacramento had just released a notice to stay in doors, they gave me a call early in the morning to let us know they would still allow us to pick up our flowers or deliver them for free. We ended up going there to pick them up and they let us in even with the health uncertainties. We got some orchids as well to give to my mom and she carefully wrapped them and made them look even more beautiful with ribbon. She asked how we were doing and if we were able to get shopping done due to COVID-19 and let her know we were having issues finding toilet paper. She did not even hesitate to grab some from the back and gave it to us. We were shocked and grateful for her kindness. We will definitely be back to get more flowers!! I live in Southern CA, but thanks to on-line ordering (so easy to use!), I was able to send a beautiful arrangement to mom for Mother's Day. When I've used those national franchises in the past, I've always been so disappointed (broken vases, wilted bouquets; it looking nothing like the picture). Not with Joy Flower Shop! The arrangement looked exactly as it was pictured on-line (if not a bit better!); they texted me a picture the morning of delivery (what an awesome idea!) & my mom sent me a picture as well. It looked beautiful! So full and well-shaped. The only (minor) drawback was when I was choosing my arrangement; there were options for Deluxe & Premium versions of the arrangement (for an additional $15 each level), but I couldn't find descriptions of what that entailed. Also, same-day delivery if an order is placed before 3:00 PM is a winning policy in my book. I posted a picture of what the arrangement looked like on-line & what they looked like after delivery. This is the closest to the sample picture I have ever seen for a florist =) I will definitely be using Joy Flower Shop for every special occasion in the future. read more

It's Valentines day and yes, I understand there are many different orders, but it does not excuse them from following basic orders especially since I'm paying $9.95 for a delivery fee. I put out simple instructions of having the flowers deliver at 3 p.m. at my Fiancée's work place, but instead they delivered the flower at 9:30 a.m. and notified my Fiancée saying her flowers have arrived, which completely ruined the surprise. Instead of contacting me there was a problem, they went and texted her first. My Fiancée received a text from the delivery guy saying her followers have arrived, but when she arrived at work, he did not leave the flowers there. I had to call the shop and figure out what was going on. Even they had no idea what he was doing. Finally, they called back and said he will deliver it at my request, at 3 p.m. One hour into my fiancee's shift, she told me her flowers finally arrived. All of this confusion could have been avoided if they followed my instructions by delivering it later at 3 p.m. Completely unprofessional and highly not recommend it. I am completely unsatisfied. I teach near this flower shop and am piloting science curriculum whereas I do not get to plan what I will teach when like I normally would. It just so happens I am piloting a life science unit whereas I need 3 white carnations and 3 flowers with clear parts, such as stigma, anther, filament for my students to dissect, draw, and label. If this were adopted, I would plan this in the early fall or late spring and get the necessary flowers from my friends' and families' gardens. The publishers suggest you contact local flower shops for donations. Since Joy is near my school I mistakenly thought they would be willing to donate a few flowers that were not bouquet worthy. I was wrong. I was told they "do not donate", but they would sell me "$5 per flower". I thought I misunderstood, but nope. They were going to charge me $30 for six past their prime flowers! read more
