The principal is always striving to bring new innovative practices into the curriculum. The clerks office so very responsive and helpful. We stayed in Skokie for about 7 years and Skokie Public Schools are absolutely exceptional in terms of quality education standards. My only concern with Skokie schools was that the teacher diversity is really non-existent despite them having a very diverse population of students. My kids never really had any negative experiences in Skokie though and they attended school from 4th to 10th grade.

It was all because of Mr. Bruner. He got me my first job working for the city painting a mural, and I've been doing art ever since. So even though I am more in the fashion thing right now, hats are very artistic and sculptural. This is not your typical high school. Academics are very valued here. There are no cliches, at least there really weren't when I went there. I got along with everyone. I was really into art and writing, so I did that, and I had outlets for that through the after-school clubs. The minus was that the kids here were way too focused on learning and partying was sometimes out of the question with some people. Luckily, I had a group of friends from grade school that I let loose with. When you're doing Honors and AP classes, you need to balance that with a healthy dose of partying.

My daughter had the hardest time transitioning to Kindergarten and 1st grade, but the staff of Hope did not give up on her. They have a computer lab that scholars use weekly if not daily, they have gym, Mac Lab, library, sensory gym, a garden for scholars to use and they are an amazing extended family for us. I can see her Spanish went from 0 to an independent Spanish reader and writer. Under this program, she also became an independent girl and a child who loves to help her classmates. During the COVID-19, the school took great precautions and made sure the students have social distancing with each other. It was a positive and supportive place then. I returned in the fall of 2019 and I have never been happier and felt more supported in any work environment. I am so glad to have come back. With the time away, I can readily see how the school has grown and improved. I have never worked at an educational institution that is so deeply committed to equity and inclusion, where the entire faculty is actively, enthusiastically, and humbly engaged in discussions around that. My understanding and appreciation of the world is being nourished here. I have been supported with funding for many professional development workshops. I have been regularly supported by my colleagues, who really support each other with positive energy, ideas, discussions, brain storming, helping hands, and challenging each other to strive for better and better. At the heart of it all is a focus on the children and the understanding that we are the best teachers when we are supported day-to-day and in professional development, and when we are growing as human beings and striving as much as we ask the children to do.
