Got homeowners insurance through this agency. Told the agent that the roof on the house needed to…read morebe replaced and agent said I would get a reduction on the insurance premium once roof was replaced. Agency then sent "inspector" to premises unannounced, only did an exterior "inspection" and then claimed the roof didn't pass inspection (although the house was already inspected for the mortgage and passed, and even came in slightly more than the selling price on the valuation). Insurance company's "inspector" also claimed a crack in the side of the chimney indicated foundation problems. No foundation problems were noted in the inspection done by the inspector for the financing. So now these jokers (Allstate) are going to cancel my policy, causing harm to me and my standing to get (good) insurance because of their incompetent and unprofessional "inspection". All this harm to me the consumer based on a problem this agency was told about before they issued the policy (the roof) (and the roof has since been replaced), and a non-existent "problem" (foundation) alleged by their incompetent (and trespassing) inspector. Do NOT go with this agency! UPDATE: Got Allstate's cancellation letter in the mail today. In spite of the fact that the insurance agent was notified in the morning on December 30 that the entire roof had been replaced, later that same day Allstate sent a letter claiming the roof had "granular loss." I will be filing a complaint with the Georgia State Insurance office to document Allstate's falsehoods. I will also be notifying my bank regarding the lie in Allstate's letter. Also, the letter claimed my "chimney is cracking." Rather different from Allstate's original allegation that there were foundation problems. UPDATE: I replaced the Allstate insurance with a different insurance company on January 5, 2016. In spite of having been notified of this, Allstate continues to claim they "cancelled" my insurance (thus causing me harm) on January 20, 2016. Allstate first sent me a "collections notice" (causing me further harm) claiming I owed them money for the period of November 2015 through January 20, 2016. This was in spite of the fact that Allstate received an entire YEAR of insurance premium at closing! Allstate has in my records that it lodged a "collection attempt" which is another falsehood on the part of Allstate and causes me further harm. Then, after all these falsehoods, Allstate sent me a partial refund of the money it received, but has illegally withheld money for the period after it was replaced by another insurance company. So, not only does Allstate lie, but Allstate also steals people's money. Run away, run away. As for the review that was posted in February: Please. How long have you been employed by Allstate?

I was with APB for several years, Originally I liked it because it made me feel like I wasn't doing…read morebusiness with some faceless company; I could walk over to the office and get my questions answered by a real live person.... I could go into the office and make my payments in person, for several years I did this and didn't think about it much... One day they sent me a letter threatning to cancel my policy BECAUSE I OWED THEM A DOLLAR ($1.00)..... I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone about why they would threaten to cancel a long term customer WHO HAS NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT OR BEEN LATE...... After talking to one of the agents and telling him about it; I WAS JUST TOLD "DONT WORRY ABOUT IT"..... No apology, no explanation of how if I walk into the office to pay and you tell me what I owe and I pay it: HOW THE HELL COULD I STILL OWE YOU A DOLLAR???? I just assumed that it was racial (I'm african american and NOT from here) and shrugged it off and went about my life. However, lately they have hired a female (african american) who is either still in the process of being trained; or is just NOT very competent.... I once asked her about my renewal date and she in turn asked me for my social security number.... As I pointed to her that I had been coming there for years and they generally DONT ask for my social security number... They ask for my name and address and pull up my account based on that... None of the other agents said a word... Also, most of the times when I call she answers the phone, she generally ends up telling me that I need to speak to Aaron or the other guy; lately they are either very rarely in the office or they just tell her to say that... The other day I called about my current upcoming renewal (the new girl answered) and after waiting on hold for awhile she comes back and gives me a price which seemed kind of high... She had no information and it was clear that that she had to go ask someone and then come back and relay the information... The dollar amount she gave me turned out to be WRONG, I found this out after calling the insurance company directly... After doing a little research online I found out that the insurance companies here in Georgia have been granted another rate revision (a euphamism for a RATE INCREASE) and that Georgia was leading the nation in auto insurance rate increases at that point... NONE of the insurance agents at APB EVER mentioned or bothered to explain the whole "rate revision" SCHEME.... As this point I've switched and don't intend on renewing with THEM... After seeing how they treat a long term customer WHO HAS NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT OR EVEN BEEN LATE; along with the fact that they have apparently hired someone who is marginally (on a good day) competent its time to move on.... Based on what I have recounted here that one star rating is a well deserved assessment of APB insurance....

They have cancelled an…read moreincorrect car from our auto policy, added my son to our policy and charged us when we were just pricing a quote (of which we are waiting to hear if the underwriter will agree to refund us), and after being offered a few hundred dollars to replace our roof after a hail storm, where finally able to prove to them the damage was legit and had it replaced. In every instance they've somehow found ways to communicate that we have been responsible for their errors. I'm not sure if State Farm is the issue or this specific agency.
