We were fortunate that none of the massive oaks and poplars surrounding our house landed on the house, but it left us with a high level of anxiety... Would they fall during the next storm? I met Adam at the park with his dog and kids, and happened to notice the tree company on his shirt. That same day he came to our house and gave us a good overview of the trees that posed risk to our property and which ones he wasn't concerned about. Adam was extremely knowledgable about types of trees, their strength and overall tree health. He gave us a quote that was very reasonable and told us the time frame to get the work done. Everything was outlines in a PDF document, including pictures with the trees marked. All in all, everything was very professional, and I appreciated knowing that we were on the same page. Now after two massive jobs, I can say they did a fantastic job. The team is incredibly skilled at this type of work; they climb the trees, manages to make branches / trunks fall exactly where they want. And he very much seemed to be on the same page for what I was trying to accomplish. He and his crew just departed. They showed up on time, and took the time estimated. They were very careful around my landscaping, and did a great job of the tree work. They have completely cleaned up and left my yard in great shape. My front garden now will get the light it needs, and bigger than that, I now have a year round view of the Blue Ridge from my front porch. I appreciate that they got the tree down w/o hitting the house. There were just too many issues. I removed the fence, minus the posts, due to being concreted in. They bent two posts and completely knocked one out. Damaged a fence cap next to the house. I asked them to leave 8' of the tree. I am a woodworker and the tree was in the perfect spot to carve the remaining trunk. Nope! I went in for lunch and came out to a huge wedge cut out at the base of the tree. The whole tree had to be cut down. The boss apologized. The whole tree had to be cut down. No offer to grind the stump for failure to follow instructions. I don't smoke and I despise picking up other people's cigarette butts. They were all over. The truck they had leaked oil all over the driveway. They kicked the rocks around to try to hide the oil. I asked to keep half of the mulch. Before I could tell them to stop the whole truck was dumped. They tossed a large amount of branches and pine needles on to the adjoining property. I am sure I will be hearing about it from the property owners. Be aware that you will have a hard time contacting them. Don't answer phone and you can't leave a message. The worst part... they still wanted me to pay the same amount. No offer of compensation. Got a little bit of attitude too.
