Super callous, asked my mother if she was aware that there was great beer at the store by our house while she rocked back and forth and sobbed. I totally understand maintaining a tougher exterior in this business, but I show more empathy to my grade school students when their fish dies. Also forgot enough important information that my mom had to go BACK to figure things out. Two stars for not losing my grandmother's body, I guess.

I knew my sister's death was imminent so I called around to funeral homes to get pricing for a…read morecreamation. I called Herring-Groseclose and the person I spoke with was very nice and gave me a price lower than the others, so I decided I'd use them. When my sister finally died just two months after my initial call I called them again to arrange the creamation. This time they quoted a price much higher than what was initially quoted. When I mentioned this they said the person who quoted that was wrong. I asked to talk to that person and they said he was not available. I asked if they could ask him to call me back and they said yes, but no one ever called me back. After I complained, they took a couple hundred off the new price, but it was still 100's of dollars more than what I was initially quoted. As I was in a hurry I went with them anyway, and now 3.5 months later I still have not recieved the death certificates and today was my third call to ask for them and I was told someone will call me back-we'll see.
