This is the third special splurge: we went for lunch in off season, only one of two couples there. consequentlywe got lots of attention from wait staff and the legendary chef herself (Gisele Lovichi). For 85 euros I got the "formule" (five courses, thick vegetable soup, cannaloni al brocciu, veal daube w/ polenta, cheese, dessert) the sheer abundance of it all meant my wife could share (when I allowed it) and order a single course (a "trilogy" of local grilled fish types). Wine was from Domaine Fiumicicoli (nice place just round the corner). The view from our table was of green mountains and of medieval Sartene built on the ridge above. matchless.

We ate there for lunch and ordered the "brochette de boeuf" (was like beef medallions on a skewer)…read moreand it came with salad and mashed potatoes. We also ordered the "stufatu de veau corse" (veal casserole with spaghetti). Both dishes were excellent. But I especially enjoyed the veal casserole. It had a tomato based sauce that was enriched with the flavors of the veal. It definitely hit the spot on a rainy day in Sartene. The service was polite and prompt.

The burger was perfectly cooked as was the kebab and really tasty. The chocolate lava cake and ice cream for dessert was amazing. Service was quick and attentive. If given the chance I would 100% return to this restaurant.
