First, the estimate was very reasonable and less than the other estimate I obtained by quite a bit. But I decided to go with Frank Shaw based on his knowledge about best options for the task at hand, as compared to what I had researched on my own. Additionally he was a great help with colors and called ahead to Dunn Edwards to make sure they could give me an entire paint color fan deck which i appreciated. He was prompt in communications and appointments. He also provided within hours of the request from my HOA, insurance documentation from his insurance company adding me and the HOA to the policy for this project (I'd never heard of that). Secondly, the crew was the best I've had the pleasure of meeting over 35 years of home ownership and many projects. Rodrigo, Maria, Michael, Mario and Kandi were so friendly, respectful of the property and belongings, kind to me and each other, and exceedingly polite every single day (11 days). They also seemed to take personal pride in the quality of their work which I'm sure impacts the quality of the product/service they provide. Also, this 3 story mountain homes with Alpine sloping roof lines off decks and uneven slopes was especially daunting and challenging but they handled it professionally and with great care to their own safety. Lastly, the attention detail, thoroughness and talent in doing ALOT of prep work (caulking, priming, replacing damaged wood, even wood in scary high roof-adjacent area off a narrow piece of deck (yikes), removing all the peeling deck paint and undoing the poor job previous painters did on it (not priming, using some kind of weird glue instead of appropriate caulking, etc) was remarkable (several neighbors commented on the prep work and requested info on the company). The paint and deck stain application was immaculate and inspected thoroughly on the last day for touch up and nothing, even the smallest detail wasn't missed. Thank you Frank and amazing crew!

Gilligan construction was recommended to us by our property manager. Brian came out to diagnose a…read morewater intrusion issue that another contractor either created or exacerbated when replacing our water main and then would not come out to fix their own work. He found the issue quickly and recommended some permanent fixes to keep the water from getting in under the foundation and into our build up and then lower level / storage closet after big rain storms or heavy snowfall. Brian was very communicative and transparent about the whole process. The pricing for the project was very reasonable. His crew retrenched the line, moved the stop and waste valve, installed a French drain, added a retention wall, and did several other things to thoroughly mitigate the water intrusion. They finally laid a cement pad in the front of the house to replace the original deck and to further keep water away from the foundation. Very pleased with the result and the timing in which they were able to complete the project. Daniel and the rest of the crew were very responsive, friendly, and were always available to answer any questions I had. I couldn't be happier and am confident that we wont have any issues moving forward with water intrusion at the front of our cabin. Thank you to everyone at Gilligan Construction!
