    Stage before show!

This is a hidden gem for a Friday night in Honolulu. This is a great place to come if you're looking for a laugh, you're new to comedy shows or you want support local talent. Most of the comedy centers around political issues, controversial topics, adult humor, local culture in Hawaii, and some dark humor. If you are from Hawaii you will understand and appreciate 100% of the jokes if you are not from Hawaii well than you will still understand 95-99% of the humor. If you live in Honolulu you should definitely come here at least once, if you're on vacation staying nearby and need plans for Friday night you should check it out! The show lasted about one hour and forty-five minutes. There were in total five comedians including Jose and a comedic MC. On this night the main comedian was Brian aka Hilo Jesus and he was great! There was laughs from the beginning to the end for all the comedians and Jose is a nice guy whose definitely funny! The show said it would start at 7:30 but started more around 7:45 so you don't need to be there early but don't come too late. If you are there by 7:30 you will have a good seat selection but there is not a bad seat in the whole theater. There was about 25 people attending the show I went to which is a decent turnout as the rooms maximum occupancy must be under 50 persons! There is a server who will come around often throughout the show where you can order drinks. Helpful tips to get here:#1 There is a parking lot right next door on the same side of the street. #2 When you enter the bar keep to your left and keep walking all the through the door in the back that says restrooms and you'll be there. I recommend it!!

#josedynamite #comedy we had a blast!!!! And we got to meet Darryl from beyond paradise!!! That was exciting too!!!

My fiances birthday is this month and I wanted to take her to do something different. She is a thrill seeker. She has done a lot so each year makes it harder for me!! Well...thank god for Jose dynamite and the crew!!!! She has never been to a comedy show and we love comedy!!! So I called and reserved 2 seats. Spoke to Jose himself and he was nice on the phone. We get to nuuanu around 5:45 pm. We parked in the park and pay right next to o'tooles. It was $12 bucks that expired 7am the next day. Which to me was not bad cause there is other places that are $20 and up. Anyhow's... We parked, walked into o'tooles and its straight towards the back. So since we were early we strolled down other bars till doors opened. They open doors at 630 and show starts at 730. They serve drinks but no pupu or food. You can bring in food, be careful what you bring tho, you are at a comedy show. Lol its a very intimate sitting area. You are up and personal. We loved it tho. We had the time of our lives last night. The comedians were hilarious. The whole show I snorted!! My fiancé had a blast and was so happy that I brought her here. So I topped last years birthday!! Cool point for me!! It is a must see!! Its only $10 a head to get in, but call to reserve. Its every Fridays and I believe they always have a different line up to. Thanks for a fun night filled with laughter. Laughter is key to happiness!! Thank you again for helping me earn a cool point!!

Always fun on Friday night. Check in using Yelp and get $5 off 2 tickets. The Yelp coupon $50 for $35 is only good towards admission which is great if you are a group of five or more. Doesn't work towards drinks. We have gone to at least 4 or 5 shows over the years so far. Always different comics, sometimes they are on, sometimes not... Definitely recommend attending, lots of laughs.

Take photo where you had parked.

Jose's Dynamite and Friends is in Chinatown. I got invited to see it. It was a stand-up comedy/comedian live show. You have to be over 21 to watch this comedy show. I went with two females, one was the comedian for that night. If you want to laugh and hang out on a Friday this the place to go to. This at Otoole's Irish Pub Bar. You can park on the street after 6:30 pm or park at the Chinatown Municipal Building, $3.00 after 5p.m., you have to retrieve your vehicle before midnight and pre-pay, otherwise you will not be able to get your vehicle the next day. The stand -up comedy, they have 3- 5 comedians for the night. They talked all kinds of subjects, dirty jokes and clean jokes. The room is not too big. We got seated in the front. They have two shows one started at 7:30 p.m and another show at 9:30p.m. First show finished promptly at 9:15. They served alcoholic drinks and none alcoholic. After the show, you can watch live band at the Otoole's Pub. We did not stay for that. Jose, the comedian, was the last one. He made us laugh. Audiences participated with his Q&A. You will have to come out and listen to these comedians. Fee is $10 mine was free every Friday nite. I recommend it. It is sort of like an Open Mike comedy show. They sing also. One guy says it took him 25 years to write the song when he sung the song it only had 5-6 words and that was end the of the song, I thought that was funny and i like this one the most. End for now "happy laughing" if you get a chance to go best if you bring your BFF.. mo better:) See my pics and take note where you park your car.

From start to finish; Jose runs a 1st class & funny show! He is so friendly & personable welcoming us & handling our payment of tickets.

I'm interested in going to the show this friday, where can i buy tickets? or do we just pay in the entrance? thanks in advanced!

You can pay at the entrance. Sometimes there are groupon tickets that you can buy at a discount price and then you just make a reservation to say that you are attending.

Which was pretty funny! The rest of the lineup was full of talent and energy that kept the audience laughing non-stop. The venue itself was cozy but lively, creating the perfect atmosphere for a night of comedy. The intimate setting made it feel like you were right there with the performers, which really added to the experience. The comedians each brought their own unique style and humor to the stage, covering everything from local life in Hawaii to universal experiences. One comedian in particular had the crowd in stitches with their hilarious observations about island culture. It's clear they have a deep understanding of the nuances that make this place so special--and they nailed it. If you're in Honolulu and looking for a night full of laughs, this comedy show is definitely worth checking out. I would like to see the actors memorize their lines and see how the final short comedy sketch will turn out on screen. I also enjoyed watching the previously recorded short films that other members of Improv Hi had done. The short film that I really enjoyed was comedian actor Kevin Yee's GAY LOVE. It had a catchy tune that the audience members sang a long "You can't get pregnant from Gay Love." Kimee, the founder of Improv Hi, mentioned to the audience that anyone can participate and write comedy sketches by attending the workshops. It's immersive, thoughtful, and has a little bit of history. Once inside the theater, the stage design continues that experience, reflecting King David's travels with what feels like carefully collected souvenirs from his travels around the world. I loved how the history was woven in so seamlessly. It actually sent me down a rabbit hole learning more about Hawaii's last monarch afterwards haha. The show itself? Phenomenal. Aki and Ken are not only incredibly skilled magicians; both masters of sleight of hand and parlor magic respectively, but also genuinely hilarious. Their chemistry carries the entire experience, and they stayed perfectly in theme with the Hawaiian Victorian atmosphere in the magic they performed. I won't spoil anything, but I will say I was left completely mind-blown. There were moments that genuinely didn't seem possible, and just when you think you've caught your breath, another reveal hits. It just kept building, which is the type of magic I really enjoy watching. The venue is intimate and seats about 60 guests. There truly isn't a bad one in the house. Being that close makes everything even more impressive because there are no trap doors, no mirrors, nothing to hide behind. The magic happens right in front of you, and somehow that makes it even harder to believe. They also do a great job with audience participation, which adds to the fun without ever feeling forced or awkward. The show does sell out, so definitely grab tickets ahead of time. It's absolutely worth it, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Honolulu!

Oh my goodness, buy the tickets!!! This show is amazing!!!!…read more I found it through some Google search I did when trying to find something fun for my family and I to do for my birthday. I thought it was some ad for a show in the mainland or a scam because I've never heard of it before nor have I ever seen the theatre it was in. My daughter is 7 and I thought, "She's never seen magic before. Maybe she'll like this." Totally forgot all about it then on my birthday was scrambling to figure out what to do for fun and Google slid it back in to my searches. The ticket prices aren't bad especially if you're local. They have a bundle that gets you 1 adult and 1 child ticket for $99. The tickets for the 3 of us came out to just about $200. The ticket includes validation for Valet parking and a rum punch cocktail. The drink must've been good because I turned around for a second and my husband tanked it. It's at Hilton Waikiki Beach on Kuhio across from the Alohilani Hotel (the old Pacific Beach). I'm glad I read my confirmation email well because I thought it was at Hilton Hawaiian Village. The parking for the hotel is only Valet. We went on a Monday night to the 7:30 show and Valet was gnarly, backed up into the street. Be aware of the time it can take to get your car valeted. The show is on the second floor. The line forms right above the main hotels entrance doors. Our plans got pushed back a bit so we were running late. We ended up far back in the line and sat in the 4th row. It really didn't matter though because you can see the action from everywhere. Our magician was Shoot Ogawa. I'm not gonna give away anything about his tricks because you should get that feeling in real time. He is UNREAL. UN. REAL. Even the tricks that were supposed to be "small" were mind blowing. It was awesome to unanimously have the crowd go "WHATTTTTT" and "HEYYYYY." I know I let out a couple WTF's. I know the adults in that room had to all be skeptics, so to equally be blown away feels comforting. Like ok I'm not crazy, this stuff is inexplicable!! While he does his tricks he also talks a lot about life, his journey, humanity. He talked a lot to the kids encouraging them. He talked about how negative opinions aren't yours too keep, and knowing your value is inside. IT WAS AMAZING!!! He was preaching and cracking jokes and magicianing all at the same time the ENTIRE show. They don't allow video recording, only photos which explains why I couldn't find ANYTHING worthwhile on YouTube. Honestly, after watching the show, I appreciated that. It made everything so much more entertaining. Afterwards, you can take pictures with him and they have some merchandise you can purchase. They have little magic kits available for purchase, so on the way home we were all trying to be magicians as we ran through all the tricks that absolutely BLEW OUR MINDS. Literally the most stressful part of the entire experience was the Valet parking and dealing with Waiks traffic at night. None of that though made this experience any less worth it. BUY THE TICKETS!!! You WON'T regret it!!!!

PACKids really outdid themselves by singing, dancing and acting their hearts out on stage - it was truly believable and something they can be proud to have been a part of. I know I was proud to have witnessed such a beautiful musical. It's no secret, i embrace local entrepreneurial endeavors and that affinity does not end with just my purchases. I support local talent when I can. Here in west Oahu there is not a shortage of talents and skills. PACK is a local, non-profit, after school musical theatre group that puts on 4-5 musical productions in a year. Children audition for parts and should be able to sing, dance, recite and act. It's the real deal at PACK! Since moving to west Oahu I have seen School House Rock Jr., their Christmas Holiday production, Little Mermaid and now, Westside Story. These kids are amazing!! I've seen them grow with each performance and their sets get better and better. No need to drive into town anymore to catch a play at Diamond Head, Manoa Valley or Hawaii Theatre...PACKids ROCK!!
