Originally we didn't know that our personal CPA who had been doing are tax returns was retiring and our file was past on to another individual we never met nor reached out to introduced his self to us. Then we noticed incomplete or incorrect info. in our tax returns, and every-time I called the office and asked for the newly assigned tax person he was never in the office and rarely returned our call. To add salt to the womb, we were surprised with an addition fee just below $200.00 that had never been charged to us prior to him taking over our file. Since I've emailed our previous CPA in that office to let her know we were having issues and needed to talk with her. Before she returned my call and scheduled us to meet with her to discuss our incomplete taxes, many of my calls/messages went unreturned and I finally decided to go to the office to try to get our message through to meet with a CPA. It's family owned, and her son met with me and mentioned he would take over our file and work on our taxes, but instead his mom who had been doing our taxes for the majority of the years we've been with them finally scheduled my husband and I in her office to discuss our back taxes that had issues and working on our 2025 taxes which we had to file an extension. In one of our in-office meeting she mentioned to my husband and I that she would personally work on correcting our back taxes and working on our 2025 tax returns. Moving forward, I stopped in her office weeks later for a follow up since my calls and messages go unanswered. I managed to catch her in the office that day and this time I was without my husband and she mentioned Ed to me that the individual person our file was past over to would be working on our 2025 tax returns and she had to give him a call to collaborate. I was shocked that she went back in her word. Since the last in-person meeting. She mentioned she would call me that week with an update. I never heard back and have been leaving phone and email messages for weeks and no reply. This has been going on since March and because of the issues with prior tax returns and incomplete 2025 tax returns I haven't looked for a new CPA office. My husband and I are concerned they will miss the extended deadline and one time extra tax break given to seniors for the 2025 tax returns. We are the type of individuals that don't like to bounce around if we are happy with our service. But once change takes place without advance notice and the service no longer works for us after making several attempts . . .
