I'm here in the cast room for my dad's post-surgical appointment. We have been waiting in this room for over 45 minutes to see Dr Grossman. Since this is not a real patient room, we've been interrupted 8 times by staff picking up various items from the adjacent storage unit. And the door squeals each time it's opened.
The doctor was literally in and out in under 3 minutes! Now we're waiting for someone to re-dress the wound, for a boot. Then to add to the hour-plus waste of time here, we have to be officially checked out which is done when the front-desk staff choose to call you up.
So how was the arrival? Started bad, then made me hopeful, only to disappoint in the end. There was a lack of wheelchairs at the front entrance. So me and a staff member convinced someone's grandma that she could sit in a chair while waiting for her appointment on another floor. I parked in the garage, which you have to pay for!!!! My dad was checked in before I made it back in.
We were called back on-time and a cutie-pie wheeled my dad quickly down the hall and into the cast room. He doesn't have a cast so this is strange. There were two Gueat chairs in the back, one on top of the other that I wrestled to sit in for me and my niece. No one offered to help! The cutie-pie undressed my dad's wound quickly and made quite the mess.
How did I know it was messy? Because 5 minutes later another tech came in to wheel him for an X-Ray and said so.
The dr should spend more time with patients and ask his staff to more properly schedule appointments so we're not waiting over an hour for our appointment. I found it disconcerting the length of time the dr spent with his patient. I cannot comment on when he does his dr thing, but my dad is healing and the surgery so far was successful to save his toe. However, plan a day event for any appointments. I plan to not be the chauffeur for his next follow up in a week.
