There was a friendly dog who greeted us at the parking lot. Inside the building, we found a display of vegetables fridgerated, local beers and wines, and produce such as tomatoes, onions, and potatoes. We also found that they served local VT ice cream. Their scoops are generous and the ice cream choices plentiful. I think we may have to come by here to try out the other ice creams. There are picnic tables in the back you can enjoy your ice cream treat and take in the farm view.

Tucked away in what looks like a roadside barn, this quirky little gem is free to the public and runs on a beautifully simple honor system: turn on the lights when you arrive, and turn them off when you leave. The museum is an ongoing "cabinet of curiosities" dedicated to celebrating the beauty and meaning in ordinary, everyday objects. From toothbrushes and safety pins to matches and dust, each exhibit is carefully curated with a mix of history, philosophy, humor, and poetry. It makes you stop and really see the things we often overlook. One of the most interesting facts we learned was about the humble pencil ... how it evolved over time and the crucial role it played in everything from education to art. Another standout was the exhibit on safety pins, which delved into their invention and surprising cultural symbolism. The atmosphere is quiet, intimate, and almost meditative. It invites you to slow down and engage with the ordinary in a totally extraordinary way. There are no flashy signs, no loud crowds ... just you, the exhibits, and a sense of wonder. If you are ever near Glover, this museum is well worth a visit. It was the perfect, whimsical way to start our day of exploring, and it left us seeing the world with a little more curiosity and appreciation.

They have a temporary exhibition filled with wheels and things, and the permanent exhibition has dresses, notes, lists, toilets, toys, keys, scissors and fun accessories. It's also a very interactive museum and they have additional things for purchase. This unpretentious gem is sure to bring you joy in life's simplest things. Amazing husband and wife team, Harry and Wendy Besett who have dedicated their lives to creating unique and high quality glass art and household stemware among many other pieces. The pieces are individually made upon order and each piece is truly unique. In addition, each piece is signed by Harry Besett. Since I do not live in Vermont, I email when I want to purchase items and they facilitate the transaction and carefully mail the pieces to me. They also show their work at their gallery and at art shows in multiple states! True treasures!

This review is for the Maple Fest of 2013…read more Maple fest was just amazing this year! I have gone the past 3 years and I think this years takes the cake for me. The weather was awesome and the prices where not to bad for food and craft items alike. Maple fest really shows a part of Vermont that is sometimes forgotten. The parade was also a lot of fun. This year is was on Sunday afternoon around 1pm. Bring a chair if you are going to go! Its worth it. The parade lasted for about an hour and a half. The maple food was also amazing. Creeme's, maple candies and even some cotton candy! Come hungry its well worth trying food out. Prices are also pretty fair for what you get. All of the staff seemed friendly and ready to help! So there you have it. If your in VT and never been to the fest your missing out! Its worth the trip.

Staff is mostly…read morefriendly, if not a bit gruff when asked why they do not offer refills on either large soda, or large popcorn (which they also charge 75 cents for extra butter on that popcorn). When entering the first of the 2 theaters I went into I was excited to see very welcoming seats, cushiony, that recline a little even. Then I looked to my right so see a shorter person that was unable to even see over the seat in front of them without sitting on their feet. But this was not too big of a concern, as they had 8 minutes after the movie was supposed to start to figure out their seating position, and that was just when the movie previews started. The modern surround sound was a great addition to the previous cinema in this location, but the same small screens and lack of even a ceiling fan really detract from the viewers comfort. The second theater had the same seats as the first but were actually put in in a stadium seating fashion, making the screen visible which was much appreciated. An important note is that I have yet to see their main theater, as they had a highly anticipated film in a small theater, while a small animated film was shown in the large one, with half the audience size. The real killer for me was the lack of a refill. I wanted, very much, to enjoy this movie going experience as its the only theater in the area. This place is great for maybe a matinee where you bring your own snacks, and you're tall, and like stale air. If not I suggest putting in the extra gas money and going somewhere more people friendly.

With a lead in like that, what's not to sound like the start to a horror movie? Turns out, you could set a pretty good slasher flick here, with the multiple semi abandoned barns filled with massive marionette puppets of political figures on days past. While once a month the theater troupe puts on a live show (featuring puppets and surprisingly bread!) the rest of the days of the month you can just wander through the puppets and sets across multiple barns and two floors. While not exactly a destination to explicitly head to, if you're in the northern reaches of Vermont worth a stop in to see something that you may never have seen before and will likely never see again
