I wish I could have been there in person to take my classes and present my capstone project. There was one professor that I didn't love but overall the classes were great and I got so much out of the readings, assignments, and meetings. To give you a short summary of my Capstone presentation assignment, I was supposed to design an animal-assisted therapy program and present it in front of our peers, school advisor, and capstone professor. I loved presenting in front of my class and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've always loved working with animals and working with children and this is my first step toward living that dream!

With the exception of a rather befuddled and out-to-lunch XML instructor, every course was taught by an experienced, professional instructor with lots of workplace experience in the subject he was teaching. A polished office staff makes sure students are informed well in advance of upcoming classes in their field. The office is kept neat and clean, and the classroom computers are totally free of the technical glitches you find at other learning establishments. Machines are prepared by the instructor prior to the arrival of the students on the first day, so no time is wasted creating virtual machines and installing prereq software. AmeriTeach offers official vendor curriculum from Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, etc. etc., which is designed to give you the knowledge necessary to pass certification exams from those vendors. Other local tech schools, LeaderQuest in particular, offer courses written by who knows who that do not have that focus. If you're seeking a place to get a good, solid IT education from professional, informed instructors, choose AmeriTeach. Stay as far away from LeaderQuest as you can. I would have given this review 5 stars had it not been for that one overmatched and unprepared XML instructor.

Only 1 of the 4 in sports medicine even got a real job in the field. In the hip/knee class, only the young, white males got jobs with companies like Smith and Nephew, DePuy Synthes, etc. Those jobs pay salaries and bonuses over 6 figures. The other guys over 35 took 1099 jobs or ended up back in their old careers within 18 months. Being a 1099 rep, is not a real job for what you spend at MSC because you can get that without the benefit of a certificate from MSC. This school is very slick with the marketing, but that placement rate only works for those folks on the graduate testimonial page. And really...only those in the big name companies are going to make that 6 figure mark in the first 2 years on the job. Choose wisely. You'd be better off going to surgical tech training, working in the ER for 6 months and then applying to a big company. Better ROI regardless of your age/race.

I loved talking with Nancy so much that my interview ended up being an hour and a half, and in that time I got a lot of insight as to what I could expect from the next ten weeks and beyond. I received tips to help me stand out when it came to applying for the job and realistic timelines as to when I could expect to get hired, as well as specific companies that are willing to hire right out of the gate. The class itself was not too time consuming or overly difficult. I managed to find the time every week for homework even with working a part time job and going to school full time. It was really just a matter of making it a priority. The class size was small so we all got the individual help we needed. My instructor Joel was fantastic! He taught to the test, as that had the most value in the outside world as well as in the classroom. He had lots of tips, tricks and helpful advise for everybody when it came to the practical side of phlebotomy too, and was readily available to answer any questions we had. My externship with Quest Diagnostics was great. I had zero logistical questions going into it as PLC and Joel did a great job of preparing us for that. I learned so much from the ladies there and felt truly welcomed by them. They didn't treat me like an incompetent student, they treated me like a colleague. After my externship I was a few sticks shy of what I needed to complete the course, but PLC was more than willing to have me back twice to finish them up with another segment.
