Came to enjoy an elevated night out with friends at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater while they are in town. The Jesse H. Jones Hall for performing arts is so lovely and definitely reflects the beauty of the arts. So excited to witness such an iconic and highly acclaimed dance company and support the arts while visiting Houston.

I came to Jones Hall for the first time to watch the Houston Symphony for one of their Christmas shows. I thought the venue was very classy & luxurious. Very clean and I like the use of red carpet everywhere. I like that there's a cafe/bar area with lots of seating. Bathrooms are clean too. The auditorium is very nice too. I sat in the back and still had a good view of the symphony. The acoustics were great and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Loved the Christmas decor as well... made for some very nice photos!

I have such fond memories of Jones Hall growing up, and the last time I was here before this year was back in 2009 for a medical school graduation. I remember thinking how new and well-maintained the building felt back then. Fast forward to 2025 -- 16 years later -- and honestly, it still feels the same! The place has held up beautifully over time. The seats are still in great condition and surprisingly comfortable. I also appreciated how spacious the seating layout is -- you don't feel cramped even when it's a full house. We were in Orchestra Section 4, Row AA, near the middle. Not the very front, but definitely a solid view without having to sit way up in the balcony. The sound quality was excellent overall, though there were a few moments where the lavalier microphone kept popping, which seemed to throw off the performers a bit. Now let's talk about parking. My biggest gripe about going downtown is always parking, and this visit reminded me why. The event email said to park in the garage at 600 Texas, so that's what I mapped. But with construction blocking the right lanes, I ended up pulling into what turned out to be the 601 Travis garage (apparently connected or maybe the same garage?) The posted signs made it seem like parking would cost up to $40, but to my pleasant surprise it was only $10 for a Friday evening event! Someone should really update those signs though -- they're confusing. After the concert, around 10 PM, the pedestrian entrance to the garage was closed, which meant we had to walk up the car ramp to get back to our vehicle -- not ideal or particularly safe. That said, back to Jones Hall itself -- it's still one of Houston's best performance venues. The building is well cared for, the atmosphere classy yet comfortable, and there were plenty of drink and snack options (including a bar and coffee). Bathrooms were clean too, which is always a plus. Overall, Jones Hall remains a timeless, top-notch venue in the heart of downtown Houston -- just plan ahead for parking!

Visited Jones Hall to view Solange Knowles 'On Dissonance' orchestral composure. It was an amazing night highlighting black women composers through symphonic instruments. Jones Hall is located in the heart of the theatre district. There are ample parking garages surrounding the area, I was able to park a few hundred feet from the venue in a small lot for about $8. Entry was quick using our bar codes. There were ample staff walking within the space to help patrons locate their seats. Multiple bars allowed for quick service for drinks and food- I was honestly surprised by the $9 price point (lots of places will tax for drinks and food). The show was AMAZING and very organized. Due to the nature of the event, recording was limited and staff was on it with catching people- but this played into the intimacy of this one of one experience. The musicians themselves were so good, I was captivated by each instrument and each section blending together to create such beautiful sounds. This was a great first experience and I am excited to return for future shows!

Everything we have seen so far has been so good. Seating is lovely and roomy. Went ahead and got season tickets. Price was great and parking is so easy. Excited for the season!!

Today was my second time visiting Jones Hall for the Houston Symphony movie concert and it is such a lovely experience! The theater is in downtown Houston and is in such a central location with plenty of restaurants nearby. They have a parking garage attached to here, so you can park and directly walk into the theater without having to exit. This is particularly nice during when you have a show end late, and can directly walk to the garage without having to go outside. There is plenty of seating available and a balcony of seating up top. Great place with wonderful shows throughout the year!

I love coming to Jones Hall. There are many different types of performances to be seen here. From traveling artists, performances geared towards school children, to watching the Houston Symphony (pop, movie music, classical performances) there's surely something you'll enjoy! Check out the Jones Hall website and the Houston Symphony website to see upcoming events. Not a bad seat in the house! Saw Samara Joy here tonight and it was awesome! Parking close by, plenty of restrooms, several places to get refreshments.

Those seat in the nose bleed section were wayyyyy up there. We had pretty good seats down by the orchestra though.

Lovely place to see symphony shows. Had never gone to a matinee show here, but thoroughly enjoyed it!

I visited here on a Saturday miday for a ballet performance. This was put together by the Performing Arts Houston. They host several different types of events during there season, from speakers to plays to orchestras etc. Dance Theater of Harlem did two shows, Friday 2/3 evening and Sat, 2/4 early afternoon. They are visiting from NYC. It was an AMAZING performance. I was blown away by these beautiful shades of brown skinned Ballet dancers. The choreography, music, and dancing was beyond. I read in the program that they have not come to Houston in 20 years! I hope it does not take them this long to visit again! Service- I was surprised that there were very few staff, to almost none, directing people in and out of venue, or to help find your seat, or hand out programs, etc. I was also a little surprised there was no staff helping to direct and expedite the long lines in the multi parking lots for the show. Unsure if they just did not anticipate this large of a crowd or what kind of planning went it to it. Seemed a bit disorganized if I'm honest. May have been a bit better if it had been an evening show instead? There is an area to order drinks at a bar during the 2 intermissions, and even order small options of food as well. Which is nice when you want to make a day or evening out of attending a performance. Low stars is related to the venue issues, not the Ballet which was excellent. But thank you Performing Arts and the Tudor Family Dance series, for bringing Dance Theater of Harlem to Houston! It seemed to be a sold out show, and great success!

What an absolute joy to see The nightmare before Christmas with the Houston symphony playing live! It was truly amazing! Get there a little early and have the pasta! The chicken Alfredo with fresh ingredients. We had 10 minutes to scarf ours down and it was so yummy!

Jones Hall for the Performing Arts is a little known Houston secret that needs to be shared. I have been to many shows they have to offer and the diversity is so great that I am able to share my love for the Arts with family and friends. The seating is a little restricting so when there is an Intermission get up and stretch those legs. Jones Hall offers great package deals on shows if you do not want a full season but I tell anyone come, enjoy the experience and you will never experience musicals and shows the same. Support the local Arts!

Ticker process online was a breeze. No problem to get in with digital tickets. Clean of course and most of the staff was knowledgeable, all were friendly. The show was fantastic but I don't get why they leave most the lights on above the audience. The elevators and most of the common areas upstairs are in need of a makeover to give it a more polished look. The staff was confused as wether drinks were allowed in to our seats or not. Ultimately it was sorted out but it was a little confusing.

For an orchestra concert, how is seating in the first couple rows? There's an $80 increase from like row 3 to row 4, is it really that big of a difference? And can you see just fine in one of the first few rows?

The Groupon gave a 50% discount or more. Paid $40 for Orchestra J to V.

There's a metal detector when you enter, then two large staircases on either side that lead you up to the mezzanine and separate stairs to the gallery. There's also an elevator that services all floors. On the mezzanine level there are multiple bars, often with themed drinks for the shows. But be careful - they come with hefty price tags! Our seats were in the Mezzanine section and the view of the stage was partially obstructed by the back of people's heads sitting in front of me, but still had a decent view. The acoustics were excellent and the show was a fun, high-energy experience. Restroom lines during intermission were extremely long but seemed to move quickly. Naturally, it was only after attracting some attention from others that the situation became evident. We adore babies/children; however, this was not the place for them. I blame the parents for being self-centered and ignoring their baby by allowing her to whine and waiting until almost the end of the first half of the show to excuse themselves out.
