I was referred to Dr. Davidson from my primary care physician to schedule a colonoscopy. I spoke with Thalia who was first point of contact. She was absolutely amazing to talk to. She was able to schedule me my appointment to get the ball rolling. I went into have my appointment and it was so easy having it done. From the moment I walked in to the time I left. Afterwards, I was waiting to hear my results, I called the office and spoke with Thalia again and she was genuinely caring and easy to talk to. You could tell she wanted to help me and not give me the run around. I felt so much at ease after getting off the phone with her. Days later, the oncology office called to schedule me for my appointment. The next day, Thalia from Dr. Davidson's office contacted me to see if I got an appointment. But he can't even sit to answer questions or give you your diagnosis. When I explained to him how nervous I was about this whole process he didn't give an ounce of compassion or positivity. If I could give zero stars, I would. I was referred to Dr. Jonathan S. Davidson, MD for gastrointestinal issues--specifically IBS. However, I was quickly and bluntly told they only assist with GERD. How is that acceptable for a GI specialist? IBS is a core gastrointestinal condition. Instead of receiving help, I was dismissed and told to go back to my primary care physician. I'm a former employee of this doctor. He's a liar and tells his employees to lie to patients about things regarding their records being sent to other doctors for follow up. He only cares about bringing in his money doing colonoscopies and EGD's and brags that he can do a colonoscopy in 5-10 minutes. Although he takes medi-cal, He does not care about patient health only how many patients he does a day which is about 40. There's way better docs who take medi-cal. I had an appointment for a colonoscopy. I drink the bottle prep which required you to be fasting for 24 hours, so I did. My appointment was for 10:30 in the morning which made me have already been fasting for 26 hours. I arrived the surgery center which sent me back downstairs to sign papers in Dr Davidson's office. One of which was a malpractice disclaimer. I was told that I had to sign it. So I did against my better judgment. I went back to the surgery center and discovered that my appointment that was for 10:45 probably would not happen until 2:00 p.m. . Even after drinking all that prep and pooping the night away I decided not to stay for that appointment the idea of signing a pre-malpractice disclaimer did not agree with me. My PCP referred me to this clinic because I suspect I have some GI issue, so they scheduled me for a colonoscopy for 5/24. They emailed me some instructions to follow for bowel prep the day before my procedure. They prescribed me this giant jug of liquid called gavilyte-g. The instructions were unclear and vague, saying I needed to take a total of 24 pills with water (but the email didn't specify what pills???), there was never any mention of the giant jug of gavilyte liquid, so when the clinic called to confirm my appointment, I asked them what the email meant about the pills, because all I received from the pharmacy was the gavilyte fluid. They then said I needed to go purchase OUT OF POCKET, dulcolax laxatives, and take 24 of them. Okay, fine, I bought the pills, and since the email made no mention of the gavilyte liquid (and the clinic staff didn't tell me what to do with it), I just assumed that I was supposed to drink it with the pills. Which leads me to my next problem: the clinic never ever told me a time frame for the bowel prep -- the email just says "DAY 1, take the pills with water". No specific time frame at all, and the staff never called to tell me there was a time frame. So I figured that must mean on Day 1, I wake up in the morning and start the bowel prep -- makes sense to me! I was never told otherwise. Wrong, I guess. When the surgery center nurse called to confirm my appointment the morning before the procedure, I asked her about my nose piercing because she said I had to remove jewelry -- to which she replied that I should go to a piercing store that same day and have it removed. I laughed and said "are you serious? how am i supposed to do that if i've already taken the bowel prep?" then she asked me why i took the bowel prep. I replied "because the instructions said to take it??" she then tries to argue with me and said i didn't follow the instructions and apparently i wasn't supposed to take the bowel prep until at least 5PM, so I pulled up the email and read it to her. all it says is DAY 1 - NO TIME FRAME was mentioned. She suggested I call Dr. Davidson's office and ask them what to do, and whether or not they think the appointment should be cancelled. I called the main office like 15 times and these dimwits never ever picked up the phone or called me back. The only time they called me was to confirm my appointment for like a 3rd time (unfortunately I missed their call because I was having explosive diarrhea). So I left them multiple voicemails and called them over and over to tell them they gave me the wrong instructions, and nothing in return. I have never been able to see this doctor for the procedure I needed because this office refuses to answer the phone, return phone calls or give necessary appointments. When the staff did answer the phone, which was rare, they we're rude, incompetent and unhelpful. I always had to reach out to them to ask questions. They never completed tasks that needed to be done in order for me to have a colonoscopy, I have been waiting over 6 months! Imagine a McDonald's-style drive-through that provided Gastro-services instead of cheap, crappy hamburgers. With very little oversight and terrible customer service. Wait no longer, that would be this medical office for sure. They provided me with no pre-test instructions before sending me to Quest Diagnostics to get my lab work done which I later found out possibly caused me to get false test results. When I shared my experience with my health insurance, and they filed a report, the doctor made up un-true statements about my visit on his reply to my insurance company. This is the oddest clinic I have ever been to. The staff in the office were loud and you can hear every bits of conversation that they have. Today, apparently there was "one donut left." These people do not greet guests with a smile or "how are you?". How about addressing guests with a Mr. or Mrs? Nope, none of that! They call you by the first name and will not attempt to say your last name if it is too hard. These people need to be educated on cultural awareness. You can't talk to a guest like they understand you. And many non-English speakers are the majority guests. A staff member was wearing socks with sandals. You work in a medical clinic. There was a man who had been waiting longer than us, yet my dad was able to get his appt on time. You work in a medical clinic, I'm purttty sure you are professional enough to reassure your guest that they will try to get you in as soon as possible. I read my dad what the forms are saying and he refused to sign half of those papers. Anyway, I got a referral for a colonoscopy for this place. The colonoscopy prep was horrible, because I couldn't finish the prep drink or keep it down. The procedure was smooth and relatively easy, but it was only a partial colonoscopy since I couldn't finish the prep. I have to go back for another colonoscopy. Anyway the doctor was cool and answered my questions before they put me under and his anesthesiologist was good at his job, because I woke up, having felt nothing. I think that the main reason that this practice has such a low rating is because A. folks can't get a hold of them, and no one from the office seems to have bothered to fix the phone number, but folks with a referral should call +1 916-568-1094, and B. nobody likes having a colonoscopy, especially the prep. Needless to say I left but only after sniffing about a bit, my Peter Parker gene kicked in by then so I got like all Spider Sensey and curious. Not enough to go full-bore Mark Williams on the place, just enough to figure them out. I'm gradually coming out of this long diagnose PTSD Fog and back to being able to pay attention, regaining my dulled street senses and confidence in them. But, man, I never realized what kind of prey I really had become and for what kind of bottom feeding scum. It's a kind of keyhole into why I am so empathetic and interact with our local homeless with the respect and courtesy - outside of my own experience in that situation - that is ALWAYS returned (and often all that they are really asking.) The pictured was one of SEVERAL releases and WARNINGS to be signed and dated, that they were not to be held responsible for ANYTHING, coupled with mandatory arbitration. Note, when they called I asked and they CONFIRMED I was going in for an upper GI "consult." I was expecting a follow up scoping, but okay I'll go with a consult. The first questions about your health are like 3 or 4 pages in and only after all of the releases and not even broad spectrum range of questions but are pretty scattershot GI from lips to sphincter. My issue is reoccurring esophagitis and Barrett's Syndrome, a possibly precancerous condition that needs monitoring. But, they are HARD SELLING COLONOSCOPIES (wrong end of the animal for my issue) to people in small group settings, just like a time share pitch, complete with explainer video and TESTIMONIALS before the "Doctor" "consults" the suckers, um, I mean patients. Now, I'm no doctor but having had the procedure done, from both the endo and the colo ends of the scopy thing a couple of times, I think that I know the difference and the colo was not one I was expecting or had asked for or scheduled. Not to mention that from what I saw the demographics of the room didn't come anywhere close to the age at which this procedure becomes recommended. Furthermore, they called me, yesterday, claiming that my primary had referred me. I am waiting for a referral so I took the appointment. It was not the referral that I was waiting for. My first clue was that the "earliest" they could take me was at any one of 15-minute intervals starting at 9 AM the next morning and that it would be a "consult". When I showed to the medical building where this guy is, the doctor's name is on the blacked out glass door on a "Suite" in stick on numbers, as is his name. Inside was a crowd of people, across the board on languages, ages, genders and colors all waiting for their "consults" and being brought back a handful at a time, as it turns out to see the video. I walked out after a few minutes of the video, when it launched into a full-infomercial mode and confronted the "nurses" at the desk. They simply looked at me like I was speaking some kind of Klingon or Greek or something even stranger and more alien, like maybe ENGLISH, and would do nothing more than look at a computer screen and repeat that I was "referred" by (my doctor's name) and that was it. Very strange office. I went in with an appointment scheduled early in the morning, and wasn't seen for an hour after the appointment. They were obviously overscheduled. From what I could tell, the only provider in the office was a Nurse Practitioner (who was wearing her face mask incorrectly -- nose exposed). There is a slew of HIPAA violations evident when you walk in. Patient conversations are easily heard, as the office is so tiny. There are no privacy filters on the computer screens -- when you walk back to the exam room, you can see everything on the computer screens. Again, tiny office. The exam room was the strangest part. There is a small laptop and a mattress. Not exaggerating -- a mattress, still in the plastic, in lieu of an exam table. Not that it matters, as your entire 'consultation' consists of the Medical Assistant asking you 50 or so questions, after which the Nurse Practitioner comes in and asks a few more questions. There is no physical exam, hardly any questions about diet (isn't this a key part of treating GI conditions?), and it is evident that they are trying to fill up the doctor's surgery schedule with upper/lower endoscopies. I asked for a medication refill for my GERD, and the NP said they do not do medication refills until after the procedure. Downright ridiculous. Avoid this office. Whether or not the doctor is effective (at least NOW -- search for Jonathon Davidson MD on Google. The website "(number) 4 patient safety" shows a transcript from the Attorney General's office showing repeated gross negligence) I will never know. I am requesting another referral from my medical provider, as my gut (pun intended) feeling tells me this is going to be more troublesome than my symptoms themselves. read more

I am giving this dr 0 stars. And based on the other reviews, I see that I am not the only one that is upset at the unbelievable unprofessionalism. You cannot get a hold of anyone. The calls go to a mailbox, and even when you indicate the urgency of needing to talk to the office, your calls are never returned. I had a procedure on 8-16-23, where they did a biopsy and I have not received the results from this office. I called today, several times indicating that I am stressed until I know if the biopsy is or is not cancerous. However, on the day of my procedure the paperwork was asking me to sign that i would not take the case to court, or something to that effect, I asked the gal "what if I don't agree with the statement?" and she said that if I didn't sign it they could not do the procedure. Another ``under zero stars'' review if such were possible. My brother in law went to his Modesto sleep study office after he was deemed too heavy for the rooms in Sonora near his home which could also not accommodate his electric wheelchair or his also-disabled care aide (his nephew) after which Adventist Health referred him there. The first contact was with a girl who could barely speak English and copped an attitude when my B-I-L told her he was hard-of hearing and 72 yrs old and 450 lbs. Then she argued about merging the paperwork appointment with the first of two sleep studies - one with the monitoring equipment only and the next with a CPAP system that he's been using for 10 years already. After escalating to a clinical manager and threatening to call the Medical Review Board for an investigation, the manager jabberjawed to her colleagues in a foreign language and after about a half an hour, told him to come at 4 to fill out the paperwork and then come back at 8 to do the study. Then the staff complained about the service dog (with tags) and complained about the care aide with disabilities of his own. So right there, that's discrimination on the basis of disability for the B-I-L as well as discrimination on the basis of disability for the care aide (his nephew). A month later when he was supposed to go back to the same clinic to get the ``other half'' of the sleep study (I go to the VA and we never have anything like that in the 30 years I have been going there - it's all done at once) called up and said they weren't going to accept the care aide due to his disabilities. B-I-L and nephew went round and round for a half hour and after the clinician and her manager refused to escalate the issue to their legal affairs office or corporate management, B-I-L told them where to put their discriminatory attitude at and told them to cancel his appointment for Friday Mar 6. Subsequent to that, we contacted Adventist Health back and told them what happened - and they said that they had been looking for an excuse to take Dr. Davidson off their referral list for a long time - for all of the exact reasons covered in both this review as well as all the other one-star or negative-star reviews you see on this page - and that this is what would happen over the coming weeks. In addition, we reported the incidents to the Medical Board of California, the Disability Rights Activism Center at UC- Berkeley and the Stanford University Center for Disability Law and Justice along with other disability rights organizations. Today was my procedure a colonoscopy I read the reviews and felt very scared and worried about what I would experience however when I arrive for my procedure today I found the office very clean the staff was incredibly kind and helpful the anesthesiologist was funny made jokes the pre-op and post-op nurses what kind and considerate and Dr Davidson explain things to me and I felt very comfortable with the whole procedure now I don't usually leave reviews but with all the bad reviews that scared me into almost not doing my procedure I felt that I should tell people how good this place actually is and was they took four biopsies and I'll know more later but if those biopsies come back or there's something wrong and I wouldn't have gone in because I read so many bad Yelp reviews I just want people to know but this place is a good place to go read more

As a firefighter, EMT, emergency department technician, Crohn's disease sufferer, and human being, I would implore anyone looking for adequate medical care to stay away from this office. From the crowded and cheaply assembled waiting room, the complete lack of privacy, the doctor's hurried and careless demeanor, and the degrading treatment in general, I had a very negative experience there twice. While showing up for a colonoscopy, I overheard medical assistants yelling across the small, crowded waiting room for other patients to have a bowel movement in the hallway bathroom without flushing and specifically to throw their USED toilet paper in the small, open waste bin next to the toilet, so she could check if their stool was of proper consistency for stool prior to their procedure. There was no consideration to the sanity, privacy, or dignity of the patients. I walked out shortly after without my procedure because my mother and I were so shocked by this calloused and demeaning treatment from healthcare professionals. My prior visit was no better and, after asking the medical assistant where procedures were carried out, she said, "I know how it looks, but we do the procedures here. Don't worry though, we use bleach every night." That did little to appease me after the doctor's complete lack of empathy, while I was left sitting on a dollar-store card table chair in one of their disheveled exam rooms. I felt treated like livestock and was offended on many different levels. I will never return to this office again. read more

As my mother died from colon cancer, I'm a big believer in early screening even in you have to go here, but the short version is that this is bottom (ha!) of the barrel care. If you've got other options, take them. If not, be prepared to be very patient and wear disposable underwear the day of the procedure. Details below: This is how this extremely low-price place works for colonoscopies. 1. They schedule you for a "consultation." 2. You arrive at your appointment time along with the other thirty people scheduled at the exact same time as were. (This is not an exaggeration nor a typo: 30.) 3. You will wait and wait. Eventually you are called in and seated in a group of three while an office assistant, goes over the preparation instructions with you. If they get really behind, the Doctor will hand you your sheet of paper and ask a couple of background questions. 4. You will schedule your appointment for the medical procedure. 5. You will go to the store and buy the materials listed on the instructions: calcium citrate (8 bottles) and Doculax. (Step 5.5. You will research every other protocol on the world wide web and realize that NOBODY makes their patients drink eight freaking bottles of that stuff.) 6. You will follow the highly disagreeable prep instructions. (Though I freely confess that I followed a more reasonable protocol I found online, and the doctor PRAISED my colon cleanliness. [You know you wanted to know that.]) 7, You will arrive at your appointment time and realize there is a whole waiting room of people who have been given the EXACT SAME APPOINTMENT TIME as you have. 8. You will still have diarrhea from the meds even though, at this point, only the meds and bile are coming out. 9. You will check in and beg to use the restroom. At which point, they will explain that you need to go, place your tp in a garbage can, knock on the office door and an office assistant with no medical training at all will examine the toilet's contents and tell you if you pass, if your bowels are clean enough to proceed. 10. You will realize that there are two, and only, two restrooms that the entire diarrhea-plagued crowd in the waiting room are able to use. 11. You will then realize there is absolutely nothing wrong with using the men's restroom until some poor woman vomits all over it and everyone gets to share the women's bathroom. 12. You will witness multiple loud instances of 20-something receptionists loudly scolding grown people about their poop. 13. Based on the doctor's timing and not your poop at all, the doctor will see you. You will be brought back into a central room where there are four other people waiting, and the doctor will do a good job of putting in an IV. He is the only one qualified in the office to do any medical procedure. There are no nurses, no techs. Just him. 14. After more waiting, you will be led into the cluttered, but clean, storage room/procedure room, and ponder the wisdom of going under anesthesia with no medically trained personnel but the doctor who is working on two patients at once. 15, The doctor will give you drugs. You will pray that you do not speak your mind to a person who is going to be placing medical equipment in your colon in a few minutes. 16. You will wake up, mildly stoned, and sent on your merry way with a sheet of paper with a return appointment in three weeks that contains follow up instructions for a endoscopy and tells you that you've been diagnosed with gastritis and to eat more roughage. 17. You will sleep for the rest of the day. 18. You will wake up and read the paper saying, "What in the what what?! I got a colonoscopy, not an endoscopy!" 19. You will attempt to call the doctor. They will have their phone off all day, for days on end. Their telephone service will confirm that this happens regularly. 20. You will drive over and ask them if you were truly diagnosed with gastritis, and they will explain that they were just out of the colonoscopy sheet. You are fine. 21. Three weeks later, you will be told the results of your procedure. I hope to heavens that if they find something worrisome that they'd call sooner. My results were fine. Anyhow, it's really appalling all the way around, but way better than dying of Stage 4 colon cancer. Having witnessed both, I recommend Dr. Davidson over horrific death.
