Dr. Gant performed a Dupuytren's Contracture release on my left-hand ring finger during December 2024. The results are amazing. My finger is completely straight, and I must look very closely to see any scarring. In comparison, I had the same procedure, performed by a different surgeon, on the little finger on my right hand four years ago. That finger will not straighten out completely and there is very visible scarring. Dr. Gant was easy to talk to and answered every question I had during my visits with him. I felt that he takes pride is his work and that it was important to him to do the best he could with my hand. When I had a worry after surgery, he calmed me down and assured me the healing process was working. He even squeezed me into his super busy schedule the day before he went on vacation to personally look at my finger and address my concerns. I could have been sent to a nurse or someone else, but he wanted to see me personally. It turned out that he was right all along, and my finger healed exceptionally with no complications. I highly recommend Dr. Gant if you have any issue with your hands. He is a wizard! read more

From start to finish, he took care of me by being honest about treatment options, performed a top-notch operation on my arm, and guided me through the healing process. I'm probably not supposed to say this, but I adore Dr Gant. I love people who are problem solvers because they fix stuff! He is simply a likeable person and he does stellar work. Surgery was brilliant. The incision is tiny and it'll be invisible in a few days. I have one more procedure to go and I have complete confidence in his skills. I am so glad he put in the hard work at med school and become a hand surgeon. His assistant Michelle is kind and organized. She even asked how my cat was since he was sick that day. The day of surgery the team (esp the anesthesiologist) was absolutely fantastic. My nervousness faded away in their care. Kind, professional and efficient accurately describes all of them. Dr. Gant performed a fusion of my D.I. P. joint the results are perfect. I need to have a CMC fusion and will definitely feel confident in having him perform the procedure. I have been a Hand Therapist for 30 years and couldn't recommend him any more highly. read more

I'm back to write my second review of Dr Gant, my last review was one day post op. initially I'd had a work accident where I'd almost completely severed two fingers while on the tablesaw at work. Dr Gant had me come in the day after the accident to do a meet and greet before taking me into surgery. Dr Gant explained what he was planning to do and answered all my questions. I walked to the surgery center and was immediately checked in and brought back to be prepped for surgery. Dr Gant came by to check on me, answer any last min questions and then said see you in a bit. Dr Lee came by and introduced himsel, he was my anesthesiologis. I then walked into the OR. After surgery I was in a little pain, nothing that Tylenol and ibuprofen couldn't manage. I refused opioid pain meds as I'd had an issue in the past which Dr Gant understood and said if I did want them to just call. My first post op visit was great. Dr Gant unwrapped the dressing and I was able to see my hand for the first time since the accident. All fingers were where they were supposed to be, two pins in the one finger and lots of sutures on the rest. He explained that he opened every cut and throughly cleaned each one and sutured it up. He showed me the X-rays post op and everything looked great! put a cast on my hand and wrist and a few weeks later I was back for another visit. Dr Gant said it was healing very very well, put a splint on it and sent me home. Next visit was even better! id healed up faster than expected and Dr Gant removed the two pins and said I can start PT. I did my PT and one last visit to Dr Gant and he was pleased. He said I might not ever get 100% full function of the one finger because of where the bone was broken and the damage I'd done. I was ok with that, I'm happy he was able to fix the mess I'd inflicted on my hand. that was two years ago and I've been back working since he released me. I have about 75% function in my finger and it doesn't affect my work or daily life much. The scars remind me to pay attention to what I'm doing at all times now and to say No when asked to work 7 days a week 12 hours a day! Being exhausted causes you to lose focus on the task at hand! and when you are working with power tools that's a bad combination. I thank Dr Gant daily for his excellent skills! He is confident, smart, caring and in my case went out of his way to make it right. He didn't have to take my case. he could of just let me go to the Dr workers comp selected. He said I'm taking your case! I can fix it, and you let me deal with workers comp! For that I thank him from the bottom of my heart! I've heard stories about workers comp Dr's! Just cut it off and ask questions later! Not Dr Gant! a true professional, a nice guy, very confident, and in my book just a bad ass Doctor! I would recommend anyone with a hand injury to go see Dr Gant! if I ever ever have another hand injury or issue! There is only one Doctor I'm gonna call and that's Dr Gant! read more

The surgery went well and Dr. Gant seemed to be a decent guy. The nurses there were also awesome and caring...and that volunteer guy...cant remember his name was funny and great. He kind of eased our worry for the surgery. Him and the nurses truly made us worry less than we came in. The aneasthesiologist...I dont know...he just came in, intro himself and what he does and went his way. Their front office still needs tuning up, so to speak, some of the receptionist are unsmiling and not too friendly, but some are warm and nice. I guess its just a mixed of naughty and nice, I guess. read more

My initial meeting with Dr. Gant in January 2021 went well at first. I described the issue with my hand and finger to Dr Gant, in which he recommended a CT scan to determine and diagnose the situation. My second meeting with Dr Gant was scheduled to review my CT scan, and determine whether or not the Dr felt confident in performing the surgery that he initially recommended. Upon review of the CT scan, Dr Gant showed confidence and enthusiasm in regard to the surgery, he then advised that I schedule an appointment to complete the surgery in April 2021. The day of the surgery, while in in my gown, 20 mins before my surgery, Dr Gant enters the room and begins to explain to me that he no longer feels confident in the surgery he was about to perform. He then explained the chances of success for my surgery were a mere 25% or less, and that was optimistic at best. He also mentioned that he reviewed my CT scan the night prior to the surgery, and began to have doubts about doing the surgery. Rather than contact me to explain his newfound doubts regarding the surgery, he allowed me to come into the office, and force my husband and I both to miss a full day of work because of his unscrupulous actions. This has been hands down the most unprofessional experience I have encountered from any Dr or surgeon in my life. I do not recommend Dr Gant to anyone that values their time and well being. read more

Dr Gant made a diagnosis of my wrist/hand injury based upon a previous doctor report without examining me or speaking to me in person. I believe this is solely because it is a work comp injury. He REFUSES to see me even though it has been authorized by my work comp insurance. How can a doctor give a diagnosis without a physical examination or speaking with the patient directly. Extreme poor patient care from Dr Gant and Sutter Health. Shame on both of you! read more

I've been a patient of. Dr. Gants for several years. First for my elbow (torn ligament) and then for my hand when I broke it, on two separate occasions. That hand had some continuing problems and I needed surgery. Dr. Gant explained everything well, answered my questions, and scheduled my surgery rather quickly. The day of the procedure all of the staff were incredibly nice. When I expressed some anxiety over having surgery, the nurse went over the things I was worried about and calm me down. The anesthesiologist was friendly, thoroughly explained what would happen. Surgery went well, about 30 minutes total. I had minimal pain after. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon! read more

My husband and I both had positive experiences with Dr. Gant. Two years ago my husband had an accident with an electric saw cutting his thumb through the bone. Recently, I accidentally cut my hand slicing through two tendons. Dr. Gant treated each of us. He was polite and professional. We both feel fortunate to have had such a skilled professional take care of serious hand injuries and now we both have full use of our hands. read more

I had bi-lateral carpal tunnel surgery on February 3rd just over six weeks ago by Dr. Jonathan Gant, a hand specialist at Roseville Orthopedics. I can't express effectively how completely thrilled I am with the outcome. The numbness I had been experiencing in my thumbs and fingers is gone. I found Dr. Gant to be friendly, funny, clear in his explanations, encouraging, and patient with all of my questions. My recovery was miraculous in that I had little to no pain, no swelling, and so I conclude he is a skilled surgeon in addition to his great bedside manner. He's very personable. BUT...I'm in a wheelchair because I'm a paraplegic. I'm 6'3" 220lbs. He did major hand surgery on both my hands at once. I'm assuming he knew I was disabled and had to be in a chair. After the surgery, I very first thing I had to do was USE my hands to transfer into my chair. Transfer into the car, go home and constantly use my chair to get around, and transfer. This put a lot of pressure on my hands, and a year later, they are both almost unusable. They KNEW my medical, and physical situation. The very first line, in BOLD letter,s said NOT to put any weight on my hands for at least 3 days! There was NO way I could avoid it, from the first moment after surury, let alone 3+ days. My hands, and I used to love to play guitar, are shot. Now I'm in a wheelchair, with bad hands, trying to get around. read more

Best hand surgeon ever and a great office staff and surgery center staff as well. Had carpal tunnel surgery done on both hands simultaneously and couldn't be happier. Results are amazing. Tingling, numbness, sleepless nights gone immediately. Process and recovery were well described and easier than expected. Minimal pain day of surgery. Was able to take care of all my own needs.
