I'd like to say my file is thick because of sports injuries ... but the reality is, I appear to be…read moresomewhat of a klutz who falls -- get it, "falls" -- into unfortunate situations. Resurgens is my go-to orthopaedic group. This morning I saw PA Brian Evans. Brian is everything I look for in a provider: knowledgeable, kind, personable and thorough. He diagnosed my sprained hamstring and set me on the road to recovery, allaying my fears. I've never had a problem scheduling appointments. On Sunday, concerned about my black, blue and purple bruise, I went on line to make an appointment. Whatever I entered didn't jive, and a pop up appeared saying someone from the office would get back to me. "Yeah, right," I thought, assuming I'd just call myself, during regular business hours. To my delight mid-afternoon Sunday I did receive a return call and the operator was able to get me in, first thing Monday.

My experience at Resurgence Orthopedic in Kennesaw was the most dismissive and expensive mistake…read moreI've ever made in my recovery journey. I went in needing real help -- a torn ligament in my hand and PT for a ruptured Achilles -- and left feeling unheard, rushed, and without progress. Dr. Jonas' nurse was amazing, but the actual treatment did nothing for my thumb. A cast and an overpriced brace gave me no improvement in movement or sensation. Over three visits, I spent barely 15 minutes with the doctor, and each time I was brushed off. My last visit ended with him rushing me out the door without even referring me to PT to regain use of my thumb. I paid premium prices for zero results. The Achilles PT wasn't any better. I paid for an hour but usually got 30 minutes of exercises I could've done at home with their app. No real support. No real recovery. Every patient deserves quality care -- and that's not what I received here.

Checked my insurance and these guys were in Network. We schedule the appointment and show up the next AM. In addition to the $35 copay, they tell me there is a $250 deposit required for treatment. We see the Doctor for maybe 10 minutes and he can't find anything on the xrays, tells us my daughter likely has complex regional pain syndrome and there's nothing he can do. By the way CRPS is super rare and according to other physicians I've since spoken with - highly unlikely this is this case. Upon exiting, I ask the receptionist about the $250 since we received no treatment. She tells us she doesn't know what to do, and we need to call Denise to resolve. Great. Here we go. I call Denise and she is baffled why they didn't cancel the charge at the office and she will look into it and call me right back - that was several days ago. Since then, went to a second wrist Orthapedic specialist and he said a bad sprain, no fractures. $35 copay only. I call Denise back this afternoon and she tells me no one has called her back and she will have to file a claim. I should expect $100 "sometime". $100 - I paid 250 + the $35 copay. I realize that sir, but that's our policy. Folks, this place is shady and now I'm going to see if my insurance company can press for resolution, if not, attorney time (work benefit). Avoid these guys like the plague!

My daughter had two sprains and a fracture to her ankle and went there for a consult AFTER getting X-rays from the ER. They charged a $300 deposit upon check in PLUS the $150 office visit, even though we have very good health insurance. The "doctor" looked at the ER's X-rays for two minutes and sent us on our way. Then we got a $2,000 bill in the mail for SURGERY, anesthesia, and surgery consult we never had, plus charged us for X-rays they never took, and charges for FUTURE office visits we never scheduled. For the past FOUR months we have explained this to them and yet they keep billing us. Now they have the collection agents harassing me for bogus charges and bills we DON'T owe. Spread the word. Don't trust these people with your children!!!
