"OK" "STRANGE" then my jaw pain moved to right under my wisdom tooth. OUCH!!! I decided, If the pain didn't go away by end of my work day, I was going to reach out to my dentist. The PAIN did NOT even wait until end of work day, but instead by lunch time the pain was excruciating. Uh Oh...My dentist is out of state so I decided I better get an in-state dental appointment AND QUICK! So I sent an SOS, can U HELP Me, communication to the Dental Office of Dr. Robert (Dad) and Dr. Aryn (Daughter) Jackson. Dr. Lo is one of those people. A natural educator in a dental scrubs, Dr. Lo took the time to explain common misconceptions about dental hygiene with kindness and zeal. The staff are welcoming and take the time to answer questions. I was not upsold on any service. From what I could tell, this dental office is more interested in giving patients what they actually need and does not try to sell products or procedures that are not necessary. It sounds like they offer a membership for self-pay patients as well that would offest the cost for those who are underinsured as well. Happy with the discovery of this dentist. Well worth the drive from Denton.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Epic Family Dentistry, particularly regarding how…read moremy treatment cost and insurance coverage were communicated to me. I was given a written treatment plan showing my estimated patient responsibility at approximately $2,443. I specifically requested that my insurance coverage be verified and was told that if I waited until my insurance became active at the end of the month, approximately 50% of the cost would be covered. Based on that information, I waited an additional 30 days with a bridge hanging out of my mouth, believing I was making the financially responsible decision. After waiting, I was then informed that my policy had a missing-tooth clause and the expected coverage did not apply. I ultimately paid approximately $3,200 out of pocket. My frustration isn't simply that insurance didn't pay what I expected. It's that I specifically asked for verification, relied on the information the office provided, and delayed necessary dental treatment because of it. Unfortunately, when I attempted to address my concerns, I also found the office manager to be defensive and rude rather than solution-oriented. As a business owner myself, I understand that mistakes happen. What matters is how a business responds when a customer raises a legitimate concern supported by documentation. I have my written treatment plan and payment records and have formally requested that management review and resolve this matter. If Epic Family Dentistry resolves this appropriately, I will gladly update my review to reflect that.
