If you told me, a fashionista that loves clothes and makeup that I would be writing a 5-star review for heating and cooling I would have laughed! But here I am writing this review for the BEST heating and cooling company -IMHO- in Bakersfield. I had the unfortunate experience of having my cooling go out just before the 4th of July. I had just come home from the hospital after hurting my knee and was laid upon my couch, NOT a good time to have cooling issues. I called my insurance company and they referred me to Jon Dooley Heating and Cooling. Clara the office manager called me to set up an appointment. (I had never used this heating and cooling company before) for an assessment and I mentioned to her that I hoped to have it fixed before the 4th of July. Without missing a beat, Clara pulled out her calendar and began to move appointments around in order to make it to my home the very SAME DAY-Um-Wow OK, Not really typical :) Jon Dooley himself (before noon I might add) assessed my cooler, gave me a full report on what the issue was, and made arrangements to return to my home the next day to install the parts needed. What happened next CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISE. My insurance company (HomeServe) that I had purchased a Heating and Cooling policy from a few months back called me and stated that I WAS NOT COVERED. Now, this is where it gets REALLY GOOD... less than an hour after me receiving that call from my insurance, Clara from the office at Jon Dooley heating and cooling called me and offered me a proposition that I could not refuse! Clara stated that Jon could see that I was laid up, and needed and may need little help. She stated that he was aware that I was not covered by my policy, and that Jon was still wanted to fix my issue. She then presented me with a SUPER reasonable payment plan and asked if I wanted her to find the parts needed, then send a tech to my home the next day and have them fix my cooling issues. I WAS STUNNED-and soooo very Grateful!... Again Who does that? Jon Dooley, Clara the office manager, and the tech that fixed my cooler, all bent over backwards to accommodate my needs. They provided me with same day service, exemplary personalized service, SUPER reasonable payment plan, not to mention went way out of their way to obtain the needed parts AND fit me in and finish the job before the 4th of July! OMGosh... BRAVO! and a huge THANK YOU Jon Dooley Heating and Cooling to step up to the plate and helping a random person in your community that needed a little help getting up... literally :) read more

Our claim was assigned to this company through our home warranty service. From the very first call, I couldn't have been more impressed. My elderly mother's air conditioner went out and it is supposed to be in the high 90s in the coming week. She has a heart condition, and when I explained this, they were very good about getting us on to their schedule quickly. The technician communicated his arrival time in advance and arrived promptly. He replaced a part in the compressor within about 30 minutes and the air conditioner was in good working order again. Highly recommend this company! read more

Our AC. took a nose dive and stopped working, this company came out right away and fixed it . Not only did he fix it but explained everything to us . Honest , fast , friendly and awesome customer service ! read more

They make sure I was taken care of as quick as possible!!!! Extremely professional and punctual. Tech was better informative.

Friend referred them and we are pleased that we used them. They were friendly and very knowledgeable reasonably priced as well as explained why certain options were better than others based on their experiences. They will definitely become our goto AC people when problems occur. read more

I had made an appointment yesterday about this time. Very friendly person making the appointment. It was about 102 outside and my AC was not working. (still not working). My appointment was for today between noon and 4 pm. It is now about 4:15 pm, no phone call or text or any form of communication. One of those typical situations where I changed my work schedule to make sure I was here. Another day wasted as our air conditioner is not working. At least the next few days will not be in the 100's as I again, look for another service provider. I had an electrical contracting business and customer service is valued by a lot of people. Even a phone call or text. I am sure there is a good excuse and this seems like a great company but my time is also valuable. Just disappointing. read more

My go to air condition repair company is James Air Conditioning and Heating. I came home last Wednesday and turned the air condition on. After 5 minutes, I checked why I could not feel any cool air. I checked the fuse box. The condenser was working but the blower was not working. I made contact with James Air Conditioning on thursday and the appointment was set for Paul to come out on friday. Paul went through the blower and was hoping it was a resistor issue, but alas, the motor needed to be replaced. Due to his recent knee surgery, Paul begged off to do this job and suggested Jon Dooley Heating & Cooling. It was now 7:00 PM, a call to Jon Dooley - office closed until monday. I called monday at 8:00 and was able to get an appointment on tuesday between 11:00 - 3:00 PM. At 11:00, the door bell rings and 2 guys from the company shows up. I show them the way to the attic and 25 minutes later, they both come out of the attic and advised photos of the motor was sent back to the office to find the right motor. 10 minutes later I get a call from them to tell me the motor was available locally and they were going to pick this up and return to install the unit. The installation took a bit longer than I anticipated. Both techs came in the house to ascertain the blower was working. Both workers were polite and professional. Now I have a 2nd air condition repair company I can depend on if my air condition goes out. read more

I would highly recommend Jon Dooley for AC repair. I had absolutely no problems with customer service as reported by others. The phone operator was extremely helpful in quickly finding a time that worked with my chaotic teaching schedule as I work from home now. The servicemen came and walked me through the needed repairs, explained the problems thoroughly, and were friendly. I really appreciate their professionalism and accommodating to my service needs. Their prices were fair and reasonable as well. Thank you! read more

Jon was very professional and punctual. We have a home warranty that required maintenance check on our AC and furnace yearly. The home warranty set up the appointment for us so I was worried we would have someone that would take advantage, not the case. He check everything out, asked if I needed to change our air filter, explained what he was checking and made a recommendation to replace a worn part. We found our go to AC service company! Thank you Jon and Audra!! read more

Jon was recommended to me by a friend and they were great!!! They fixed the issue, the main issue why our heater kept on blowing out the board. They were prompt and very professional! read more

Family owned business. Have known this family for many many years. They are the best people who work behind the scenes to support the community. Jon always provides great service at a great price and also works with the Home Warranty Companies. Have recommended their services to dozens of people and never had a complaint from any who used them. Most of their business is repeat customers and referrals, so that tells you how good they are! Great service from a great family! Highly recommend!!! read more

Jon the technician was rude. He told me I owe him $85 for the service fee. When I asked him if the thermostat was already fixed. He said No, the gas is turned off right now. He wrote down some notes and they still need to order some parts. He accused me of not wanting to pay him when I said I don't think it's fair that he's asking for a payment for a service that was not yet completed. He said it's not about being fair. He said he doesn't work for free. He started pointing his finger at me telling me that I'm not a retail customer. When I asked, what is going to happen after I pay you $85? He said, I don't know. That's between you and your home insurance. company. He accused me of not wanting to pay him $85. I told him, I don't mind paying $85 if the service is completed and the problem was resolved. When I reached for my credit card and told him here's the card but I still don't think it's right that I am paying for a service fee but the main problem was not yet fixed and nothing was done except for him making some notes. He said if your attitude is like that, keep it then he walked away. I would not recommend this company because Jon discriminated me for purchasing a Home insurance warranty instead of being a retail customer. It's very disrespectful of him pointing his finger at me. I'm a first time homeowner who merely called her home insurance company to have her thermostat fixed. I did not deserve to be treated with disrespect and discrimination for not know any better. read more

Trust my word! I am sooo happy with them! They literally just left and I downloaded yelp to write this! Steve is such an amazing person and he did an amazing job!! It was so fast and everything was done right! He went above and beyond for us! They told me the time the would be here and was even early! And they installed a new ac so fast when he came to the door I thought he needed to check something but he was done and it's amazing! I am so thankful Steve came! Him and his crew are so awesome! Call this place for sure! I'm never going anywhere else but here! read more

I just finished getting an entire ac system replaced on my house today and I was impressed. They showed up right at 9am and the job was done by 3! They were so professional I could not tell who the boss was as all the guys seemed to know exactly what to do every step of the way. I was very happy not only with the excellent work they did, but the price was extremely competitive as well. I hope I never have to call them again for this house but I will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for air conditioning work. read more

My 15 year old AC went out (of course in the middle of summer when I needed it the most). It had a leak, Jon was able to find the replacement part it needed (even though my system was an older style), was honest about how much longer I could expect it to last, and even gave me a loaner portable AC to use until he could schedule time to fix it (which he actually did on a Sunday morning). Seems upfront and honest. read more

Needed my A/C unit repaired and we were in severe heat, not only did the service man show up within the time frame he gave me, he was able to repair my A/C and at a GREAT price, I will continue to call them in the future because they have a live person who answers the phone not some automated system. read more

My mother called them on Monday at 8am. as her unit went out on Sunday. They were out there to fix her problem by 9:30 am. and done by 10am. Would highly recommend Jon Dooley Heating & Cooling!! read more

Jon Dooley is single handedly the greatest life saver ever. Our air conditioner broke and our home warranty company dicked us around for a week. I finally called around and Jon Dooley were so friendly. They came next day but we didn't hear them at the door. We called to reschedule and they were nice enough to come later that night, after hours. A new one was installed so quickly. I will forever be indebted to them. They were fast and professional and just awesome! read more

After trying to schedule an appointment with the receptionist she told me they are not going to help me. Very rude, as I was only trying to find a day and time that would work for me too, because I couldn't leave work right when she wanted me to do it. read more

Poor customer service. Is unfamiliar with smoke alarm building codes. Secretary and Jon both got hostile and very argumentative over the phone and then hung up on me. Unwilling to answ88er questions and unwilling to work with you. read more

I sincerely hope the woman answering calls and making arrangements is aware I am making this complaint along with the complaint I submitted to my warranty company. First, I spoke to this woman on Thursday 6/9/16 and explained my scheduling problems and blah blah.. She agreed to keep my bid if I was willing to wait until Monday (6/13/16). I leave work at 5 and get home at 6, which she said would be noted and ok. She said the worker will leave your job for the last appointment. They called me to confirm the visit, but due to my jobsite location, I had the message in voicemail and called back immediately. This morning, 6/14 I get a phone call, with a condescending voice, telling me I made arrangements for 430pm, she spoke over me, did not allow me to explain, was very inappropriate and rude, then she hung up on me. I attempted to call back to speak to management or an owner, the woman answered after 2 tries, states "your case has been transferred" and hung up. I was willing to make arrangements, I was willing to take time off, but she stated the time and date, then did not follow through. I wish I would have been able to work with this agency/owner, but I don't know what crawled up her ass and died this morning. Thank you. read more
