My family and I have been vacationing in the Clearwater area for 15+ years and used the Jolley Trolley on a regular basis. It was usually a pleasant experience with friendly drivers that provided helpful facts about the local area and also provided general guidance regarding the Trolley stops. This was not the case during my current visit - August 2025. The majority of the drivers were not friendly, actually unpleasant and not helpful at all. Some of the drivers were actually quite rude to potential riders seeking information. NONE of the drivers were familiar with the place we were staying, Belle Harbor, one of the largest condo complexes in Clearwater Beach. The trolley drivers are often the first interaction visitors have while in Clearwater and the Trolley employees we encountered were a poor, unwelcoming representation of the city. read more

Jolley Trolley has amazing employees who go far above & beyond to help their patrons. I accidentally left my purse on their Trolley & was in a panic. I left a message with their dispatch after hours voice mail. Received a call the next morning & was told that my purse was found (by a very nice driver) & turned it immediately. Not only were the entire contents in the purse, but the supervisor drove to the Dunedin Highland games at Highlander Park to bring it to me. I can't say enough how very grateful I am to all those involved in helping me recover my purse. The Trolley system is easy to use & runs consistently throughout the day from Palm Harbor to Dunedin, Clearwater & other locations. I would highly recommend their service. 2 logistics military officers could not navigate this beach routes north or south. By the time you understand there is no system your vacation is over. Stops have no numbers or names. If you found a number it didn't match any of the maps on the website. Drivers are clueless. They don't use Military ID.me To gain. discounts. Seniors discounts had to be done at certain locations not close to beaches area! Buses were empty. We came during a holiday weekend, Streets are jammed with traffic and the buses are on the streets. Short distances you can walk quicker than you can ride. I had a stroke and wanted to ride more but the distance and time between buses is too inefficient. Stops need at least one bench! Securing and using the all day pass that has to be done on the website.It's very clumsy. City seriously needs to look at the free trolley in Key West and use that system. We had amazing drivers all (3) of them. Routes were on time. We rode from Clearwater beach to St.Pete pier. *However please note, this is not just for tourist* We had locals, homeless people on the trolley. It is public transportation not just other tourist. The Coastal Route apparently no longer goes to Safety Harbor, as it used to on weekends. Fares have been reinstituted: $2.25/$1.10 single ride/sr and $5/$2.50 all day pass. Passes can be used on all other PSTA buses and trolleys. Children under 5 free. Exact change and masks still required. read more

Drivers have bad attitudes. Not friendly at all. We took the trolley a couple of years back and had a great time, so we thought we would do it again. What a mistake. We waited a good 45 minutes for the right trolley to pick us up. We watched from the parking lot in Clearwater as the trolley we needed to take us back to Tarpon Springs take a15 minute break. Once on the trolley, we made a few stops. Picked up a rider (that the driver had to get into an argument with). Went a short way and the driver pulls over to take another 15 minute break! Once we get going again, she goes about one mile, pulls over again so she can turn over the trolley to a different driver. This new driver is just as crabby as the first. People come to Florida to have a good time. The drivers need a class on how to be nicer. We won't be taking the trolley again. read more

This is how I get around in Clearwater and I pay nothing . I show my room key from Sandpearl Resort and its FREE. I can go to Tarpon Springs, Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Sand Key , and downtown Clearwater. That being said a few of the drivers aren't the nicest but Hey! its free . I use my map and figure things out the best I can to change trolleys, and not ask the drivers anything. You don't want to piss them off. The trolley picks up and stops at most locations as PSTA. The drivers will turn the music so loud on the trollies that you can not speak to anyone and this prevents you from asking them questions (they do this on purpose) . I've seen it . really. Please bring headphones or earbuds they play really bad eighties music that puts you in a bad mood when you get to your destination. Think Air Supply " The One that you Love" at the highest decibel level. But its free so I will not complain. read more

This Trolly was so much better during COVID !! They were on time and moved more efficiently throughout the pandemic then now !! They are constantly stopped now for multiple minutes at time 10 at a single stop !! Trying to stick to some ridiculous time schedule is ridiculous!! Just travel the route and if no one there you stop for 2 minute and continue on!! It is such a horrible service now !! They do not need to spend minutes making up time ! The drivers are excellent! Each and every one of them were friendly and helpful. This was the first time we used the Trolly in Clearwater Beach, but most assuredly won't be the last! The $5.00 all day pass is a great bargain! We only used it for one evening, and it was so easy and convenient, and so much cheaper than Lyft, Uber or a taxi. Going from Clearwater Beach to Dunedin today. Brochure SO hard to understand times and stops. Many people around us lost too and complaining. After an hour and a half, finally get on one to Dunedin. Driver was rude and he didn't say a word. We have never been here before so just thought he would stop in Dunedin and let us off. He kept going and my husband asked if that was Dunedin--looking on our GPS. He says well y'all should have said to stop- very rudely. He just pulled over and told us to walk down this path back to downtown. Walking a great deal was something we were trying to avoid today. He was one of the rudest people I have ever witnessed. Also be aware that if you pay the $5 per person fee, you can ride all day long. Any route, at anytime within the same day. This includes the PTSA buses as well! this would be a 5 star if they accepted cards. If food trucks and flea market vendors can do it, so can these guys. Last tidbit of intel is that they can be booked for private pub crawls or parties, in which case alcohol is permitted! Honestly, really bad experience with this trolley service. We waited over two hours to catch a trolley from Clearwater pier to Tarpon Springs and when one finally came up (trolley 25 Saturday evening 9pm) - he was coincidentally out of service and drove away before letting any of us waiting on. The absolute worst. The amount of times we had to take a Lyft or an Uber back to our hotel was too many too count. We were skipped by so many trolleys without the drivers looking to stop for us. A lot of the drivers had poor attitudes. We were waiting a stop and a trolley came with only 2 people on it and did not even look our way, drove right past us. Sad. read more

Had a great experience several years ago. Riding the trolley was a fun, inexpensive way to get around. Yesterday was an experience from hell. It was all because of the driver, Lorraine Wilson on trolley #19. She was was rude, obnoxious and completely unprofessional. This company needs to monitor her behavior. The hop on hop off option was the best way to get to Clearwater Beach. A single day fare was $5. (Only $2.50 for seniors). You can pay cash for the fare to the driver. You avoid the ridiculous parking at the beach. We parked near the bridge (for free in their lot) walked a couple blocks to the terminal and had a great experience while the Tolley driver dealt with the traffic. read more

Those who did not have a friendly driver definitely didn't have our driver, "MoJo"! We were clueless as to how the trolley worked and the reason for 4 stars is because of the terribly confusing pamphlet/website/app. It's only free for some hotels, it's impossible to find out which before arriving at a stop and asking. It ended up being $5 (cash per person, exact change only) and with help of our very joyful driver MoJo my husband, baby and I were able to navigate our way from Clearwater Beach to Dunedin and back for a night out. Very clean trolley and once MoJo gave us the rundown and details of the trolley system we really enjoyed it and would've used it earlier in our trip had we known how easy it was to use. Terrible. My family and I have been on this trolley every time we've come down to Clearwater with no problems. The drivers were rude and clearly had no idea about their system. We waited for the trolley for 30 minutes just to be told that the driver was refusing to take us back to our hotel and that we needed to walk to a different stop. After waiting 25 minutes for the next trolley, the driver told us he couldn't take us to our hotel and to walk back across the street to where we were the first time and try to catch the last trolley of the night. We ended up having to catch an Uber back to the hotel. Sad to say we will not be taking this use of transportation again. read more

My first time on the Jolley Trolley and I must say I had a good time...first off...please have exact change because the drivers DO NOT have cash... Unlimited Daily Pass ($4.50) $2.25 Reduced rates are for Senior and Disabled. There is a Trolley Tracker for your smart phone you can download and see were the trolley buses are at any given time. So you are not wasting time waiting around at a stop. (so you can manage your time better). We parked at the Publix at the Island Estates and took to trolley over to Clearwater beach because the parking at the beach is not the best and feeding the meters (one might lose track of time - and there goes a parking ticket) The Trolley ran one time, was very clean, and very well maintained. I would recommend bring a face towel because on hot days you would feel as if the air conditioning is not on in the trolley. Taking the Jolley Trolley along Clearwater Beach or heading out to the surrounding towns on our Coastal Route is truly a unique ride. For $4.50 you can truly see most of Pinellas County. "Leave your car where you are" and enjoy our fun and reliable service to the beach, Downtown Clearwater, out to Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Safety Harbor and Tarpon Springs. Stop in Dunedin and connect with the Safety Harbor trolley which stops at The Countryside Mall. The Trolley runs to the beach route runs 7 days a week, to the Coastal and Safety Harbor routes on Friday, Saturday and Sundays! This is TRULY a GREAT service for Locals and Tourist alike. read more

So I was on this trip in November in Clearwater. I stayed at the Sheraton Hotel. What I liked is that when I show the trolley driver my hotel card, I can take up to 3 other people on the trolley with me for free. I used this trolley when my husband was working to go get food for the both of us and bring it back to the hotel. When he was off, we would take the trolley few miles north to eat. We can drink and not have to worry about driving back to our hotel. It was great. The trolley was definitely a plus for me in this location. Just remember that people who live and work here also use the trolley as their transportation. So try not to go around 3-4pm. I saw that those were pretty busy times and the trolley was crowded. There was also an app that I downloaded to track the trolley. You can set a reminder through the app so that u won't miss it the trolley. I wished the drivers were more friendly. I've never ridden a bus or trolley before and I didn't know what the proper way to let someone know where I needed to go. Seems like they didn't care to explain that to me either. It would be helpful for newbies like me to know. Maybe they can post that on their website. Do I tell the driver where I need to stop or do I find a bell if there's one? All of my rides on the trolley were pleasant even the ones in their 4 o'clock traffic. The drivers were all very safe. None of them were speeding through lights or stop signs. Before coming here, I did email the customer service to see what the cost was for the trolley rides. They got back to me super fast. We booked the Jolley Trolley Haunted Clearwater Tour for ourselves and friends who were coming to visit for two weeks. I had booked the tour for the first Sunday evening that they were here in case we ended up getting canceled due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Well it turned out that my friend arrived feeling sick so I contacted the office by both email once and by telephone several times on Saturday but I never heard back. On Sunday, I finally spoke to someone in dispatch who was very pleasant but absolutely not able to help me because it was the weekend. She did tell me that if one of the party could not attend that we might be able to get a refund for that person but it was not guaranteed. That was certainly not what I was looking to do anyway. I absolutely just wanted to rebook our whole party of 4 for another night. However, since that did not seem to be possible because it was the weekend, we all went on Sunday night. Well, we probably should have just stayed home because the tour was so disappointing. We had opted to board the trolley by the historical society building ( the trolley was about 20 minutes late!) we were just about to leave when the trolley showed up and I didn't hear the whole story but it sounds like there may have been a schedule change and the trolley driver did not realize that they were working or something like that. Anyway, we boarded the trolley and off we went. Well it was easy to hear the narration it was impossible to see through the dirty plastic windows that were closed because of the cold weather. So maybe the mansions and other buildings they were talking about looked dark and spooky looking, we couldn't see through the dirty windows at all. Also on the tickets it says that the tour will last from 6:30 to 7:45. The people leaving from the historical society building are told they will be picked up 13 minutes later. Anyway, we were not picked up until 7:05 and were back at our vehicle by 7:50! Although we did get our tickets through a Groupon I still consider it poor value for money spent. We paid $20.80 per person for less than 1 hour tour . I guess I should be grateful it was short since I couldn't see anything anyway! read more

First time using the Jolley Trolley yesterday & wanted to double check we were getting on the right one. As we approached the steps of the vehicle I saw the driver shrug his shoulders and sigh in annoyance that we were getting on. I could tell he was being a jerk to an elderly couple that got on before us. I asked him about the route & he mumbled his response under his breath. Realizing I was on the wrong trolley I turned around and got off. I needed a trolley that drove from the beach to Dunedin so we waited for that one to arrive. Very bad experience. Driver was so rude and not helpful. We were on one trolley driver said it was going where we wanted. Then 5 minutes later said it was the end of the line! We needed to switch to a bus to get to where we wanted. Then to return it would only drop us off blocks away from our car and we had to walk. A great thing to have along the beach. A $5 all day pass gets you on/off as much as you like. TERRIBLE! Called and verified that the Harborview center is a pick up stop although it is not on the schedule. Told the trolley stops at 10:00 but maybe get out there at 945. To play it safe went to stop at 9:33, trolly came at 9:40 and drove right past me. Had to wait another hour in the sweltering sun for the next one. Got on this one and the driver could not get my newly issued ticket to work, had to hand sign it and I was told I would not be able to use the PTSA with it. ( I paid for a all day pass that includes the PTSA) On the return trip the other driver gave me a hard time about the handwritten ticket and was not going to let me ride. Drivers are rude. Traveled from Tarpon Springs to Dunedin with no problems. We got off at Ozona on the way back to Tarpon Springs and were told by the driver the trolley would return in an hour. We waited over 2 hours and it never returned. We had to get an Uber to take us back to tarpon Springs to get our car and return to Ozona did the rest of our group. We drove down to Clearwater on 4/13/17 for a dolphin tour with family that was in town. As we were heading to the pier we saw signs saying "Free Trolley to the Beach". They were all over the little downtown area. We decided that might be better than just hoping for a spot at the marina. We followed the signs (there were a lot of signs) and we parked in the area indicated behind the Winter's Dolphin Tale Adventure. We walked to the trolley stop we had seen in front of the building and when the trolley stopped I asked if this was the trolley to get to the Dolphin Tours and she said yes. She didn't charge us (unless she charged the last person in our party that got on and I didn't know it) so I thought we were on the right one. At the next stop other people got on asking about the free trolley ride. She said, "You're looking for the free ride to the Beach?" they said yes, and I said that was what we were looking for too. She said she could get us close but not all the way. She proceeded to drive us to a stop near a gas station near the Publix stop. So we were still far from where we needed to be. We had a paid for scheduled dolphin tour we were trying to make it to, this meant we couldn't attempt to go back to our car as we would have missed our tour and there wouldn't have been a refund. The driver told us to walk to the trolley stop up ahead and that one would take us to the beach. We did and waited with the other family that had wanted the free trolley to the beach. We get on the new trolley and she asked for payment. We and the other family said that we wanted the free trolley to the beach and she said that was just a trial they were doing and they weren't doing it anymore. We mentioned the signs and she just kept saying it was a trial and they weren't doing it any more. We were running close on time so we paid and of course we didn't have exact change so my Brother-in-Law paid like $15 I think since there was six of us even though it should have been like $12+. Then we proceed across the bridge and got dropped off on the other side of the street from the marina. When we were done with our tour and late lunch we headed back. We thought we could save money by walking over the bridge ourselves to get to the pickup spot near Publix. Since the first ride we received was free we thought it would be free from that same pickup spot back to our car. This wasn't an easy decision since I have pain when I walk due to Plantar Fasciitis in my feet. But I did it to save money on this "free" trolley experience. When the trolley pulled up the gentleman driver expected payment. Again we did not have exact change as we at least thought this one ride was free since the first one was. So again, completely exhausted by this horrible experience and just wanting it to be over, we paid another $15 since he could not give out change. He actually took us directly into the parking lot that we needed to get back to. This gentleman was the only pleasant driver we had the entire time. The other two were quite rude in how they spoke to customers and I couldn't believe rude people were allowed to drive the "Jolley" trolley. Needless to say, we were extremely disappointed in the service and the false advertising of a "free" ride to the beach. I mean the drivers didn't even know there was supposed to be a free ride to the beach. Poor communication within the company and extremely poor service for us customers. I submitted a complaint to the company and since they didn't have the decency to respond I will be posting this bad review on all available sites. FYI, on their website where I filed the complaint they were advertising the same free trolley ride. read more
