I had no plans to bring this situation to social media, it's actually been over a year, but since…read moreJohn reached out to me today and chose to blame me for being unhappy with a tattoo that was poorly done -- with uneven lines, missing details, and not even centered where I asked -- I feel the need to speak up. I quietly went to another artist to have it fixed because I lost confidence in his work. I didn't cause a scene, didn't bash anyone, just moved on. But after he reached out and made a post about me on Facebook, I can no longer recommend Studio West.

I have, totally in writing, a conversation between me and Derrick Jay about how medically hazardous…read moreit is to take $600 up front and THEN tell people they only get two bathroom breaks or else the session stops. He says that he doesn't think it's hazardous and has never had a problem before. He even cited a client not going to the bathroom for five hours as evidence and that's when I told him that's what it means to be dehydrated. He refused to acknowledge the power imbalance or the danger of holding urine OR clients dehydrating themselves to avoid going. He said I have no authority over him and he's not afraid of the health department or the shop's owner so he will continue. This shop is now fully aware that they are selling a special with medically unsafe guidelines, but Derrick's reason for not being receptive to the information was that I was rude to him. So basically, this shop is willing to risk physical harm to their clients because a grown man got his feelings hurt by a woman on Facebook, because she didn't sugarcoat that he is putting people who may not know any better in harm's way. If they're willing to defend this, what else are they doing that's dangerous that they're not volunteering on social media?
