Really friendly staff! Unfortunately, if you're going for food, I'd not bother. Their menu has been shrinking year on year; there's now only five main courses, one of which is nachos and cheese(!). Vegetarians especially will feel left out - they've only got one veggie main and it's the most tasteless pile of microwaved slop imaginable. Also, while the staff are very friendly and helpful, there are too few of them - this weekend it took over an hour between ordering food and receiving it.

We do pride ourselves on good customer service and feel it is important to have knowledgeable friendly staff. In response to to the comment regarding the wait for food, this has actually nothing to do with the number of staff on duty but sadly the kitchen is very restricted regarding size due to the fact that the pub dates back to the 1700's and this restriction is evident during very busy times when we do have an unavoidable wait for food but we always try to advise the customer if there is such a wait.
