Popped in here briefly for a quick drink and bite, a pub I last visited nearly 40 yrs ago when I lived in Harrogate. Its a village High St pub, maybe needs a bit of refurbishment
Bitters available were Rudgate and Tetleys. I chose the latter, nice and smooth and at the right temperature (£2.60)
Ordered the Haddock (£9.95), which came with a first class crispy batter, as good as Ive had for a while, and a seperate dish of chips, a bit anaemic, and another dish of mushy peas, also good and Im fairly sure prepared by themselves the proper way rather than out of a tin. Service was commendably quick, the meal appeared in less than the time I would have thought was needed to cook it read more
