Johnson's removed our 150 year old plus bay tree. I hated to remove that tree, but it was causing damage to our home. The tree was so massive it required a crane to assist in removal. Yesterday (Saturday) was the third time I have had tree trimming and brush chipping done by Johnson's Quality Tree Care. Showed up exactly on time. Reviewed requested work. Did the work. Cleaned up any mess they made. Left my property safer and looking better than ever. They gave me tips on how I could speed up their work in the future by better organizing piles of brush (no root balls encrusted with dirt and/or rock, have butt ends of brush all facing the driveway, ensure no wire, nails of metal mixed in with brush, etc). I plan on having them back out for more chipping in a couple of weeks. read more

Johnson's Quality Tree did great work but did forget to trim 4 additional trees that was on the contract. I called numerous times with no call back and no one returned to finish the job. Would not recommend the company for reasons of not following through and lack of communication. read more

Last June I had a sudden tree emergency and this company was highly recommended to me. I called the phone number and was forwarded to Mr. Johnson who was out of town. He called me back in just minutes (from Nevada!) and promised me a crew for 7AM the next day, which was a Saturday! Rick, Jose Luis, and Alberto came out promptly and finished a large job in a few hours. They also helped do extra tree work beyond the main job needed. They were pleasant, courteous, efficient, organized and very professional. They did major tree work along with excellent clean-up work. I'm very grateful to this company for being there in an emergency when I needed help ASAP. I highly recommend them! I expect to use them again, as I have A LOT of trees! read more

I have a pine tree that might need to be cut down in the near future depending on how long this drought lasts. Beware! To protect your property, I'd encourage you to have a security presence if you permit Johnson's Q Tree Care on your property, or be prepared to go to Small Claims Court. In an effort to be a good neighbor, I told my neighbor that I would allow a tree removal service access to my property in order to remove a large Redwood tree from his property due to the damage its root growth was causing. to his property. Without warning, at 8AM on 5/8/2015, my entire driveway was blocked by the tree removal equipment. This forced me to reschedule several appointments because access to my driveway remained blocked until the afternoon. My irrigation system was ripped up and left wrapped around a fence post. As a result, it was cracked all the way through in multiple places, requiring re-splicing and replacement of parts. The control box to the electronic gate opener was on the same fence post they used to wrap the irrigation system around. It was knocked loose. A large mess of tree branches was left behind my gate. A pile of debris was left in my front yard. Outdoor furniture was left knocked over and damaged. Landscape plants about to bloom were destroyed. Water hose was used, not put back, and left dripping Nearly three weeks later, I'm still buying parts to fix the damage. I sincerely regret allowing Johnson's Q Tree Care on my property. I wrote to them but so far have received no response. read more

These guys are always the greatest. I've used them for my tree care needs for years, and never disappointed. This year we needed them to come out to handle some storm-damaged trees, as well as some routine pruning. Casey is very knowledgeable and responsible, the crew is efficient, quick, and leaves the property in good clean condition. They were referred to me by a winery owner and a relative of theirs. One would think that would be enough to get a call back. Nope. Not even the third time. I'm not sure who there customer base is but it's not part of mine. But there is a reason for everything BC I found a different local tree service that responded quickly and did the job efficiently and professionally. Johnson Quality Tree care has come to many peoples' rescue in lake and mendocino county since the storms have hit! Trees fallen on houses and many emergency situations are dealt with as soon as possible. Some one mentioned that they are extremely busy, which is true, but when an emergency situation arises and people call they are there to help within hours and even the most difficult problem is fixed within days at the most! I have used Johnson's Quality Tree Care for a few jobs over the years, one large, and another an emergency. I recommend them highly. The jobs were supervised by Kurt or his son Casey. I always found them to be responsive and reliable. Their crews did a lot of little things to minimize impact to the property while they working. This family company has a good concept of service, and the pricing is reasonable even for emergencies. The only hitch is that they are quite busy, and you will typically have to schedule work out three weeks or more, but that is to be expected from a good outfit. read more
