I provided a suit and dress shirt for cleaning, the suit came out fine but they told me they lost my shirt. The next day the called and said they found it and it would be the following day after 4. I went in and they told me it was there but still had not been pressed. I came back the following Monday and they stated they never found it. I said, I thought you told me it was there and just had to be pressed and she just shrugged her shoulders. They ask me the age of the shirt, where it was purchased like that mattered. They told me to buy a new shirt and bring a receipt for it then they would pay for it. So I went in 3 times, lied to me twice saying they had it gave me the third degree about the shirt then told me they would pay for a new one. I am going to eat the price of the shirt, I refuse to do business with a company that has no integrity. read more

I cannot express how dissatisfied I am with this business. I grew up in the area and my family always used Johnson cleaners. I stopped in last Friday to drop off some tablecloths and the lady working was so rude. Another customer walked out behind me and said he would never do business with them again. She even came outside when he was talking to me and asked him if he had something to say to her. She literally threw the tablecloth's at me then she noticed my debit card on the floor (I had dropped it when I first went in) and she wouldn't give me my card. This lady was out of control. She ended up throwing my debit card at me and asked for the dry cleaning ticket back. They lost two customers that day - keep that up and eventually this business will shut its doors! I asked her name and she wouldn't tell me. I've seen her in there many times before, but if this keeps up she will run this business in the ground quickly. read more

My coat smelled and looked just like it did when I sent it in to be cleaned. It appears that they only put a plastic covering over it, charged me $12 and gave it back to me after being there for about 2 weeks. read more

My husband and I have used--and loved--Johnson Cleaners for over 15 years. However, in the last several months it has turned into a nightmare. Our clothes have been returned with stains from their cleaning chemicals and requests to speak to a manager have apparently fallen on deaf ears with not a single phone call to save a loyal customer! Please note that the counter staff remains welcoming, warm and professional! There has apparently been a change in management and a subsequent plunge in quality and customer care!! When my husband went in today and asked to speak to the manager--the guy ignored him. We spend thousands per year on dry cleaning and will now find someone that truly wants our business and is willing to earn our loyalty! Bye Bye--Johnson Cleaners! I have used Johnson's before and really haven't had a major issue. Today was a different story. I dropped off a tux and tux shirt to be cleaned and pressed. I had a very hard time getting the counter employee, Kathy, to understand that I wanted the tabs on the tux shirt to be pressed down. They previously had been pressing the tabs straight up. After going over this with her at least 3 times, she finally got it. I went to pick it up this afternoon and I again was waited on by Kathy. She dropped the tux shirt on the floor and proceeded to step on it. When she handed it to me, I looked to make sure that there wasn't a dirty footprint on it. That's when I noticed the tab collar on the shirt. Kathy had taken two huge safety pins and fastened each tab down. When I removed the pins, there were large and very noticeable holes through the tabs. But it gets better! They flipping dry cleaned and starched the shirt with the safety pins still attached! This left huge safety pin marks embedded in the tabs. The shirt is ruined. I asked to speak with the manager and Kathy walked to the back and was gone for awhile. She proceeded to tell me that the manager wasn't there. I later learned it was the OWNER and he refused to come out and talk to me. Kathy thrust the tux shirt at me, which was now balled up and off the hanger. I refused to take it until I was either compensated or the issue fixed. I had already paid for the cleanings. It was decided that they will re-do it AT NO EXTRA CHARGE! I pick the shirt up tomorrow and we will see. In the meantime, I get home and notice that the tux didn't even belong to my son. It was someone else's! I went back up there and told them that the tux wasn't mine and they insisted that it was because it had my name on the ticket???? My son wears a 30x32 pants and a 38 R jacket. This tux fit a 250 pound man. After several rounds of going back and forth, I was told I had to come back in the morning to see if they could find it. I refused because my son needed it for a prom he is attending tomorrow. I again asked to speak to someone in charge and once again, the OWNER refused to come out of his hole in the back. By this time, Kathy is getting downright belligerent and actually slammed the pickup door in my face and told me to drive on! I called her a choice word and I refused to leave until they found the tux. After going through every tux in the place, they finally found it with the wrong name and tags on it. The other girl who found it had the audacity to tell me that I had no right to be rude to the employees. But yet, it's ok for them to slam doors in customers faces and make snide and rude comments first! I never received an apology, not once did the OWNER attempt to help or even show his face, nor was I offered an explanation as to why this happened. Johnson's Cleaners is a joke! i am writing a review because it has been over a month since i have received my comforter back from being cleaned by this cleaners. Dropped it off one day to be dry cleaned and picked it up a week later , took it home to put on my bed and it had bad brown stain spots on it. I was so upset because my son bought it for me from Macys. it was priced well over $200 and it was like new. Went back to tell them about it , which of course they already new , they just never said anything..and someone put it on the hanger and just gave it to me as it was. Every time i pop up there's an explanation. They suppose to be paying for it but its been weeks and i haven't received anything. i don't know who the owner is and can never catch him there. Went there Monday 13 2022 to see why the owner hadn't called..the manager was acting like there was a check for me but she didn't see one. This dry cleaners i do not recommend. read more

Not clear on their prices. They tell you dry cleaning a shirt is $4 when it is actually $5 in total cost. When you question them about their price manipulation they are curt, not very respectful. I won't be going back as they have damaged a jacket in the past where it came back totally faded and took no responsibility for it. read more

I see others posting that they have had articles lost or damaged. I hope like the devil that when I pick up my 12 pieces of laundry including two suits that I dont experience any of these problems. I have used them many times and haven't had any lost articles . I did have a damaged wedding vale once that they refused to pay for and the wedding was the next day. I had to go with a borrowed vale from a friend that left me furious.They would not pay for damage or even try to settle with free cleaning bill. johnson cleaners in colonial heights lost the shirt to a 300 suit. they gave me a 70 credit. i can not replace it without replacing the whole suit. i used the credit to clean my husband's best suit. they lose my husbands suit on friday and he needed that suit to mc a program. i had to buy a 200 suit to replace it. never put anything of value in this cleaners! read more

Johnson's dry cleaning has destroyed my $350 jacket and will make no attempt to repair the damage. I don't recommend their service.

I was afraid my father's much-used arm rest covers were a loss, but Johnson's made them look like new. I'm impressed.

Dropped off my husbands suit yesterday. Was assured it would be ready today after 4:00. Went at 4:40 and his dress shirt was done but jacket and trousers weren't. Said I could come back in an hour. I went back at 5:40 and they couldn't find it. The red headed girl was polite and apologetic but the blond was rude. I told her he needed it tomorrow morning and that I was assured it would be ready. She had an attitude and asked what time I dropped it off. That's when I got angry and told her it shouldn't matter, I was assured it would be ready! I've never used this dry cleaner before and won't again! They eventually found the suit, and I can understand mistakes but not rudeness! I have to select a star rating.
