Everyone has the odd item that unfortunately claims to be 'dry clean only'. Massively irritating. The worst thing about these dry clean garments is that they are usually the most expensive ones. So, you spend £100 or so on a garment, and then you need to spend more each time you use it! For the most part, I try to get away with washing them as usual. But there are those stubborn items which just need to be dry cleaned. So, having finally become decadent enough to own some of these items, I decided to have them dry cleaned. My Mum was staying and she offered to drop them off at Johnsons - I think mostly for the novelty of the fact that it is a drive through dry cleaners! It could not have been more simple. She dropped them in, and the friendly lady processed the order and said that they would be ready the next day. Simple as that, the next day she went to collect them and they were as good as new! I suppose the only criticism would be that it is (obviously) easier for car owners to get to, but it is at least on the main Headingley bus route. I am not quite grown up enough to simultaneously own a car, an item of clothing that requires dry cleaning and have a job that requires driving into town but it is still a pretty convenient location for those rogue items that are 'dry clean only'. Dear Johnsons: I write this email because I am really angry about your dry cleaning service. On 3/Nov./2018 (Saturday), I went to Johnsons Dry Cleaners UK Ltd, 50 Headingley Ln, Leeds LS6 2BW in order to send my clothes (2 cashmere coats, 1 cashmere sweater, 1 cashmere scarf, and 1 Hermes silk scarf), then, I picked up my clothes on 5/Nov./2018. My cashmere scarf was damaged and your staff said 'this is just normal, is not our responsibility. ' The fringe of the cashmere scarf is shorter. It seemed that has been cut. I definitely do not think this is a normal situation after dry cleaning. However, the staff insisted to say, 'This is normal. Is not our responsibility.' Moreover, for my Hermes silk scarf, it is an absolutely ridiculous situation. Your staff put a pin directly on the silk scarf!!! For now, I am really double about Johnsons Dry Cleaners UK Ltd's qualification and professionalization. How could your staff do this!! PUT A PIN DIRECTLY ON A SILK SCARF!!! Rather than on the label of the silk scarf. As we all know, if there a small hole in a silk scarf, the small hole will become bigger and bigger. Furthermore, it is a Hermes scarf which I bought on Manchester Selfridges. Overall, I am really disappointed with Johnsons company. I hope your company can give me a solution. Otherwise, I will complain this to Chartered Trading Standards Insitute and suit your company. As this not the first happened, the last time, I could choose to believe your company as a mistake. But not this time, I am questioning about your company's qualification and professionalization. Last time, I brought a Maxmara Kamel with silk lined and a Loro Piana baby cashmere coat. Your dry cleaner service damaged the Maxmara dress silk lined and because this was during Christmas, the shop was closed and I was away from Leeds. So, I did not complain about that. As for Loro Piana baby cashmere coat, after your dry cleaner service, the coat became stiff and hard. And I asked the staff, she said 'It is normal. Every cashmere after dry cleaning is like this.' However, when I went to Loro Piana shop to ask the specialists who gave me a totally different answer. They said 'Any dry cleaner would not cause the original material hard if follow the label in the clothes. For Loro Piana, we use the best and the luxurious baby cashmere in the world, if any dry cleaning service makes it stiff, it definitely follows a wrong instruction to clean the baby cashmere.' I went to the Johnsons Store on 2 Draybank Road, Broadheath, Cheshire. As they are a chain of drycleaners and also due to my parents taking in a few items of clothing there in the past I trusted that they would provide a good standard of service......I was wrong. Firstly my parents began to have problems when taking in a set of cushion covers. They had to be recleaned three times in total as each time they came back with more and more stains on them. Eventually though, they did sort this out and we thought the problem was a one off, which also turned out to be incorrect. Next I took in four dresses to be drycleaned and when i went to collect them I naively didn't check all of the dresses individually and simply trusted that they would be fine. It was two weeks later when I took one of the dresses out of my wardrobe that I noticed the dress had been torn and had a hole about 15cms wide, right in the centre on the front of the dress. I took the dress back to complain and they told me that all items are checked thoroughly before they are given back to the customer. It is quite clear though that the staff at this particular store DO NOT check all of the items once they have been cleaned. I'm not an unreasonable person and I understand that accidents happen. I would have been satisfied if they had accepted resposibility and apologised, but then the staff continued to imply that I must have taken the dress home and damaged the dress myself. I couldn't believe what they were insinuating. They said that all they could do is send the dress off to their complaints department and get them to look at it and make a decision. Over the next few months I recieved a letter saying they would not accept responsibilty for the dress. I was still dissatisfied as they had clearly ruined my dress and wouldnt take responsibility for it, so I continued to contact the customer service department and was told the regional manager would contact me. This is now months and months ago and I have still not heard anything. To be honest I've given up wasting my time and effort chasing up Johnsons, simply trying to get a result. I will certainly never go back to that store again or ever use Johnsons the drycleaners again. I'm sure not all the stores are as bad as this one, but as a company as a whole, the customer service I have recieved has been appalling. read more

Unbelievable place I cant find 1 bad thing to say about the otley road shop in guiseley I was in a super rush I popped in with a couple of jackets and a moncler coat they did a super job on all my items the staff were super friendly helped in a massive way then I got shown the discount for regular customers brilliant thanks johnsons read more

After 10 years of using Johnsons I recently had a nearly new garment ruined due to the dye running. I had previously washed the garment as per instructions in my own washing machine and had no problems and have never had issues with an identical garmet I posess before or after. Johnsons refused to admit responsibility, As a result I no longer give them any business (they have lost about 10 times revenue against the cost of the ruined garmet in the last 7 months as a result...but they also told me that 'they didnt care as we are making a lot of money'.
