She lives round the…read morecorner from Teatopia and as there had been a heavy snowfall our plans of taking the kids out changed, so we decided to walk here for lunch and to get the kids out. My friend told me that the place had been closed for a refurb and turns out new owners. It had only reopened 2 days before we arrived. The decor is bright, cosy and friendly. With lots of cupcake and butterfly pictures/wall stickers. The owner came over and told us that they were having a problem with the electrics so it would be a limited menu today. This was fine as we were still able to order some yummy food. I had the prawn and avocado salad which was delicious. My friend had a toasted pannini and her kids had a sandwich and beans on toast. We were all pleased with our choices. We initially sat upstairs at the window seat but when we went downstairs to the toilet the children spotted a small play area, so we decided to move downstairs to have our cakes. The staff were great and came and helped us move everything downstairs. The kids played and we got to enjoy our tea, hot chocolate and cakes. I had chocolate cake and my friend had carrot cake. We shared them with the kids and still couldn't finish them. The chocolate cake was home made and moist I really enjoyed it. All our food encluding drinks came to just under £25 which I thought was a total bargain. I will definitely be back.

I wanted to update my review because it was written so long ago and I've been a regular customer at…read moreMajestic ever since. Indeed, I probably buy about 95% of my wine from here. I keep coming back because the price to quality is the best I've found anywhere. Sure I can spend the same or less at a grocery store but what I'm buying is almost never going to be as good as what I can get a Majestic. I (obviously) especially enjoy when they put our favourite wines on sale for crazy prices like £6.50 down from almost a tenner. Then we buy a (6 bottle) case. They always have wines to taste - 3 red and 3 white, I believe - which is great and often entices us into buying one or two bottles of splurge wines. It's nice to mix it up but even nice when you have been able to taste the wine and know you'll like it. My biggest complaint is that they don't have a larger Californian section (generally no larger than 6 bottles), and what they do have usually includes one or two wineries which blaspheme the Californian name. We never have any problem with finding 6+ bottles to buy because we have plenty of storage for wine and can't be bothered buying one bottle at a time. We aren't snobs, but we like wine. We like tasty wine and we like considering a bottle which costs over £9 to be a "splurge". Majestic ticks all the boxes for us.

This is the sort of place that you come if you like wine, but aren't like, really into it (well, I…read morecome here and I'm not exactly a connoisseur). Basically, what I'm trying to say is it's cheap, and it always stocks the 'coolest' brands and has almost always got a good deal going for it. This particular branch is really big too, and I've often seen a lot of grafitti around the area - some entrepreneurial kids have changed the 'B' to an 'F' in the streets. Charming. The staff are lovely too, but the grafitti in the area makes me a bit scared of this branch...but the shop itself is good.

Of all the local supermarkets I have around me, I like this one the most for one reason. There is a…read morestaff member that works here who is easily the happiest man alive. Always smiling, asking how your day is going and what the rest of your day is going to bring. His name is Kyle and if you ever find yourself being served by him, pay attention to how happy you are when you leave. As for the store, it's also one of the hald decent "express" stores in the area. Sometimes there are stock level issues on the dailies such as bread and milk but all in all it is a very clean and well maintained store selling everything that you need to top up your shopping with. If I had one complaint about the shop it would be like the rest of the reviews, there are sometimes occasions when you can stand in a queue for 5 minutes longer than needed after being followed around the shop by a security guard at the weekend all whilst there are staff members walking about chatting to each other. It's local and it delivers. You sometimes get Guinness draught for £1 a can too which is good.

They not only sell your standard items, they also have a great selection of value books, chart books and value dvd's. During the day they have a hot counter where freshly baked pies and pasties are for sale. They have a pay point machine for gas, electric, phone top ups and bills. The only downfalls are that they do not have a lottery machine, you tend to find teenagers loitering about outside the shop in the evenings, a security gaurd follows you around the place when you do enter, making you feel awkward, and there is normally always a queue for the tills as they do not have many people serving.
